freaking phones!

OKay - my home phone system sucks. Over the weekend I replaced the ground block and have replaced indiviual wires mostly throughout the house.

In the back I have a very long (100ft or so) run and the phone back there sounds very faint when I'm on it (I mean the person I'm talking too has a hard time hearing me). I have another phone that I have placed at various places around the house that has no problems. I don't know what to do now - no matter how hard I try I can get this damn system working right.

I'm hesitant to go out and buy new phones because I want to actually figure out what the problem is.

I'm calling the phone company to get them to come and look at it again as soon as possible. I've asked them to change my drop a number of times and now I will insist or I'll change my service to the local cable companies phone service (which is a lie, I know too much about their service to trust it as I used to work for them).
