London deportation list of "unacceptable behaviors"

Something we need to adopt, but probably won't. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,22989-1748674,00.html

Quote:

The Home Office today published a list of "unacceptable behaviours" which will lead to the deportation or exclusion of any foreign national who commits them from the UK.

According to the Home Secretary the list is indicative rather than exhaustive and covers any non-UK citizen whether in the UK or abroad.

Terrorist violence

Cannot foment, justify, glorify terrorist violence in furtherance of particular beliefs

Terrorist acts

Cannot seek to provoke others to terrorist acts

Criminal acts

Cannot foment other serious criminal activity or seek to provoke others to serious criminal acts

Inter-community violence

Cannot foster hatred which might lead to inter-community violence in the UK.

Method

Individuals who do the above by any means or medium are caught by the legislation, including:

- writing, producing, publishing or distributing material;

- public speaking including preaching

- running a website

- using a position of responsibility such as teacher, community or youth leader

Do you think the Brit's will send them all to Australia like they used to?;)

stevepaa 08-24-2005 11:48 AM

So Pat Robertson is not welcome in England?

RallyJon 08-24-2005 12:32 PM

You mean it's possible to get rid of terrorists and Pat Robertson with one law? Sounds good to me.

RoninLB 08-24-2005 12:33 PM

England's new "behaviours" would disturb the ACLU.

From an Australian news paper:-

Subject: MAYBE THIS COUNTRY SHOULD ADOPT THIS STANCE

I AM NOT A RACIST BUT THERE IS A LOT OF TRUTH TO THIS

The right to leave Australia

The right to leave Australia... A little too close to the truth on some
things.
After hearing that the state of South Australia changed its opinion and let
a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's license with her face
covered, prompted this editorial written by an Australian citizen, published
in an Australian newspaper.

Quote: "IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT".
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some
individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have
experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.
However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the 'politically
correct' crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism
was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge
against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Australia.
However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our
country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of
Australia being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our
sovereignty and our national identity. As Australians, we have our own
culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle.
This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and
victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian,
American or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our
society, learn the language!
'In God We Trust' is our National Motto. This is not some Christian, right
wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and
women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly
documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our
schools.
If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as
your new home, because God is part of our culture. If the Southern Cross
offends you, or you don't like (A Fair Go), then you should seriously
consider a move to another part of this planet We are happy with our culture
and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things
where you came from.
This is OUR COUNTRY, Our Land, and Our Lifestyle, and we will allow you
every opportunity to enjoy all this.
But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our Flag, Our
Pledge, Our National Motto, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take
advantage of one other great Australian freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

Rob, why on earth did you feel like you had to preface that with "I am not a racist." There were no racist statements in the piece you posted. To consider one's own culture superior to another is anything but racist. I consider the western European / American culture superior to all others. I do not see any 3rd world culture that provides for the health, welfare and human dignity of it's citizens at the level we do. No communist, socialist, theocratic or other culture is our equal. There is no more racism in this statement than there is in pulling for the Tennessee Titans over the Green Bay Packers.

rob justice 08-25-2005 07:35 AM

Mule - it was simply copied word for word from the newspaper. I don't fully agree with what was said but some of the incidents taking place over here just now are eye-opening to say the least. The Government was completly lost control of the influx within the UK just now - basically anyone is being allowed to enter unchecked and some incidents are pretty scarey.
I believe the article was headed as such because anyone who holds there hand up with an immigration concern is automatically classed a racist.

Mule 08-25-2005 07:44 AM

Bingo Rob. A buddy of mine calls himself a cultural racist. He says no other culture is our equal and I agree with him.

For many Indigenous Australians however, 26 January is not a day of celebration but one of mourning and protest. On the morning of the 26 January for the 1938 sesquicentennial (150th) celebrations, Aboriginal activists met to hold a 'Day of Mourning' conference aimed at securing national citizenship and equal status for Aborigines. Citizenship rights for all Aborigines were recognised following a referendum on the issue in 1967. In an attempt to heal some of the pain of Australia's past, there is now an advanced Reconciliation movement.
So where does the article consider the Aborigines as part of Australia's multicultural community?

I AM NOT A RACIST , I just walk, talk and sound like one.

It's time to really Support Our Troops and not with some stupid bumper sticker.

Take December's expected expenditures for the mess in IRAQ and:

1. Spend half on cameras like London has in all major US cities as far as the money will go. Get the Brits to teach us how to catch the terrorists. They seem to be able to do it--we don't.

2. Repeat history--we interened the Japanese during WWII. The Muslum religion has declared war on the US. Spend the other half on av gas for Airforce troop flights to IRAN/IRAQ for any non-US citizen who is a practicing Muslum or who espouses Muslum unrest or who has evidence of Muslum terrorists materials in their possession. This is WAR and they are the Enemy.

3. ASAP begin maintaining a cordon of US nuculur attack subs with cruise missles in the immediate area of IRAN/IRAQ.

4. Bring home every swinging dicx in IRAQ--every US man or woman--all the equipment, supplies, food, water purification--everything that is not nailed down--in time for them to have Thanksgiving at home. They deserve it and so do their Moms and Dads, sisters and brothers.

Worry about whether or not it's OK to do after it's all done.

oldsam 08-25-2005 06:47 PM

Oh, by the way--before some start whining about "they'll cut our our oil", stop and think a minute.

Go ask somebody from the Greatest Generation what fighting a war is all about. The only ones "fighting a war" are the troops "over there", the sons and daughters we've already buried and the men and women at Walter Reed Hospital. Did you see the national news last night about closing it? Did you see young kids trying to learn to walk again with one or both legs missing or with wounds too bad to show on TV?

That's whose really fighting this War on Terrorism. At home, its bizness as usual. Racing cars on the track, running boats on the lake all week-end.

It made me ashamed to the core. I'm almost 60 and too old to run around in the desert, but I can do my part here and they rest of us can too.

Time for Americans to tighten up their belt.

Everybody who drives a car to work can form carpools of 4 drivers. People who work together or in a building close by. Every carpool member gets a $1,500 tax credit for every parking space they free up. Their employeer can keep up with that. Form 1027-FUCH the ME. Most companies are subsidizing part of the parking cost and will save big buxs to spend toward under-funded retirement plans. You cut daily gasoline usage by commuting workers to 1/4.

Another tax break for using public transportation. Bus, train or subway. Maybe give everybody a "Freedom From ME Oil" hat to wear everyday.

How about a lapel button--I Vactioned At Home--for driving 50 miles or less on your vacation.

High time we ALL started fighting this war. And not just throwing our grandkid's future dollars at it. Let's quit arguing over Clinton and Kerry--that's ancient history. Lets get it fixed and QUICK.
