Ever do anything you're ashamed of? C'mon, you can tell us. We're all friends here.

Me? Shoplifting when I was a teenager. I always had cash because I had been working since the age of 10. It wasn't due to peer pressure either. It was the thrill of getting caught that drove me to lift magazines, jackets, pants, pens, etc. Now, when I go shopping with my son, I always tell him to keep things out of his pockets unless he pays for them. He looks at me and says, "Of course, whaddya think, I'm going to shoplift?". Good kid. He better stay that way because I've got my eye on him.

Another? Getting kicked out of HS in the 10th grade. Had to get a GED, just so the USAF would take me. Got the HS diploma later then finished college years after. I just thought I knew everything I needed to know in life so I refused to show up for my HS classes. I thought who really needs to know Algebra? Then, I realized, life is full of word problems. Going to college unprepared in Math was tough but good thing I enjoyed the subject after all.

One thing that bothers me more and more as I get older is not standing up for my little sister when I was growing up. Yes, she was devil spawn and had my parents in the palm of her hand (I could never win any conflict with her), so I think when someone picked on her I let it happen as revenge.

Still, big brothers are supposed to look out for little sisters, no matter how frustrating they are.

I shoplifted once, it was more of a joke to freak out a strait laced buddy that was with me. Unfortunatly I sucked at it and was grabbed in the parking lot. I was 19 at the time.

I went before a judge dressed in a suite and tie and explained it was done as a prank and I knew it was stupid yada yada.. The judge fined me $50 and withheld judification. The clerk looked to be about 19 herself and winked at me as she handed me my court fine. It was supposed to be $50 but she wrote $15.

Either I heard the judge wrong or she did. I had a moment in the hall deciding if I should go back and clarify it. I ended up paying the $15 and NEVER getting in trouble again.

I was living at home at the time and concealed it from my parents to this day. I was so ashamed of myself.

The ladies became frightend of what they percieved to be a large snake biting me in the groinal area.
I was ashamed for not warning them.....

Seriously? When I was young & single, I wasn't exactly the nicest guy in the world to some of the girls I dated..."love 'em and leave 'em" I was dumb enough to believe in "The Playboy Philosophy" back then. Yeah, I regret that...considering getting laid something I'd want to keep score on...trying to rack up as many points as I could. Told myself I was being "fair" by not saying "I love you"...I'm not proud of that time...

I've got hundreds, one of the worst would be when I got my first wife (before we married) & her best friend in bed. A few days later I was drinking with her boyfriend (future husband) & he mentioned something about her having a special oral talent & I agreed. Whoops, he had kind of suspected something funny was going on anyways. Worst part was that he considered me his best friend & I had no clue of it. I think it hurt him pretty bad. On a side note, she divorced him 10 years later & became a full blown lesbian.

So much for the "special oral talent".

I'm 39 and still terribly ashamed that I didn't kick the ever living **** out of my dad when he cheated on my mother and destroyed the family - all to serve his little weenus. Granted, I was only 15 at the time and was too young to fully understand the situation. But because nobody stood up to him, the bastard got away with it and now lives comfortably and happily with the "other" woman. It took the rest of us years to put our lives back together and, frankly, my mother is still a complete trainwreck. She spiraled into depression and poverty, attempted suicide, etc etc. Frankly, I wish someone back then had stood up for what was right. And I really wish it had been me.

Ah c'mon. Confession is good for the soul. Plus, who gives a **** what you did so long ago? Unless, of course, the statute of limitations is still in place.

Years ago we were coming off the bridge from South Padre island Texas onto the mainland. It is a huge 2 miler that has a stoplight at the mainland side. We were stopped waiting for the light to change and I see this guy barreling down the highway toward us in a jacked up pickup. Sure as hell he plows into us. I can tell my wife is hurt. The kids were ok. I jump out of the car and go back to survey the damage. He starts making excuses and I just decked him. The light had changed and I get back in the car and drive on. My kids are going nuts at me. They can't believe I did it etc. Of course I could have gone to jail and didn't so I was lucky there. My wife still has health problems related to the wreck.

My kids are grown and laugh about it now. And my wife says I should have kicked him too for all the grief it's caused here since then. I wasn't a proud dad after I'd done that though.

For a while there in college one of my buddies ex-GF's were safe. Only did that to him twice...and we still remain close friends but he was more than a little pissed at the time.

Various pranks when I was a kid...some of them were a little excessive. Burning the neighbors entire lawn with gasoline probably was a little more dangerous than I thought at the time.

Wrecked my Mom's brand new '84 Rabbit Cabriolet and lied about for years...truth finally came out when my ex-wife, who was angry with me at the time, told my parents over the dinner table. That b*tch. Still, I shouldn't have lied in the first place. FWIW, pulling an e-brake at 45 mph on a wet two lane road with ditches on either side is not a good way to show off.

I quit a perfectly good job because the flight attendant was doing the boss on every trip he was alone. I was tired of her not doing the drudgery part of her job (cleaning the cabin and galley after every flight, and showing up on time).

I actually said to him later in private that it was her or me, and he actually said " unless you want to start giving BJ's inflight, I am gonna have to choose her."

I should have started looking for something else first and then walked when I found something decent.
