Weird coincidences in life?
Any of you guys have unusual conicidences relating to Porsche cars?
My Mom-in law and wife were planting some flowers today when my MIL dug up a 1/43 Porsche 911 Speedster. Obviously has been buried for quite a long time. It's blue like our car as well. Kinda silly, I know, but still............of all the houses we could have bought... |
My dad passed away some 20-odd years ago. I was at an engine drop party a couple of months ago, and met a man wearing a shirt with my dad's company logo on it. When I mentioned my dad worked for his company long ago, he asked his name. Turns out my dad used to be his manager, and they lived down the street from us when i was a tot. Apparently he traveled with my dad a lot too. Small world!

This is some old stuff, but I thought I'd share anyway. I'm sure that many of you alreadhy know this stuff, but for the younger guys and those have never heard it before it is kind of cool and creepy at the same time. Enjoy.
Have a history teacher explain this----- if they can... http://www.presidentialpetmuseum.com...ntial_seal.gif http://www.topicsites.com/abraham-li...ncoln-bw13.jpghttp://www.dhm.de/lemo/objekte/pict/...ohnF/index.jpg Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960. Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. Both wives lost their children while living in the White House. Both Presidents were shot on a Friday. Both Presidents were shot in the head. Now it gets really weird. Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln. Both were assassinated by Southerners. Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908. http://www.historyplace.com/specials...x/ajohnson.jpghttp://www.ilexikon.com/images/2/29/Lbj2.jpg John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939. http://www.medalofhonor.com/JohnWilkesBooth.jpghttp://scribblguy.50megs.com/oswald03.jpg Both assassins were known by their three names. Both names are composed of fifteen letters. Now hang on to your seat. Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.' Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln' made by 'Ford.' Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse. Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater. Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials. And here's the kicker... A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland A week before Kennedy was shot, he was in Monroe, Marilyn. http://www.ellensplace.net/m_gold.jpg Weird, huh? :dunno: The last part is up to speculation about Marilyn Monroe, but the rest of it is completely true. Very, very strange coincidence. |
Ok, I have a doozy...
A few years ago I was at a flea market, and spied a nice old wooden trunk. I was looking for one for my boating gear... sails, anchor, ropes etc. This one was perfect, a couple compartments and seemed nice and sturdy. I closed the lid to see what the top looked like, and noticed a name painted on it... "Capt. J.P. Palmer". Whoa, too weird, I thought. My name is Jake Palmer, and this was for my boat so the "Capt." part was really cool. So I buy the thing for $35, and take it home. A couple nights later, I was talking to my dad on the phone and mentioned the trunk. He asked, "Is it grey?" Yup. "Does it have angle iron corners?" Yup "Does it have white numbers on the side?" Yup "That's your grandfather's trunk from WWII... it was accidentally thrown out in spring clean up in 1981, in Ottawa." Ottawa is about 800 miles away, and I bought it 15 years later in my hometown, the town my grandfather lived in most of his life. A few weeks later I went back to the guy I bought it from, and asked him where he got it, apparently he found it in the ditch. |
Some if not most of these things happen for a reason. Open your eyes a bit and someday we may find out why they happen and who is helping them along...

My first Porsche was built in January of '72. My second was built in January '92.
O.K., not that big a deal. My current car is a '69E. The VIN ends in 0069, so it was the 69th 911E built. I was born in '69. I'm also German. And sexy. The coincidences are staggering! :D |
