Lotus News

"Last night was the opening reception. Kim Odegaard Nielsen (CEO of Group Lotus) made a few opening remarks and announcements to a room of well over 300 people. He understands that Lotus is much more than just a car company and is committed to shepherding the marque forward while not losing sight of the vintage owners. During his talk, he made three major announcements:

The Federal Exige was unveiled, with an MSRP of $50,990.

The Lotus Circuit Car will be offered in the US next year.

The new high-end car (which he said couldn't be named anything other than Esprit) will be launched in all markets in December 2007.

He characterized the new Esprit as the most complex and important development program ever undertaken by Lotus."

Thanks.

If the Elise proves itself to be reliable, I will probably have one someday.

It might be "comic-book"....but with the bloated 996/997s series.......This car is in the true spirit of early 911s....(Cayman is coming though;-)

I've got to give Lotus credit for risking doing this....pretty darn cool ;-)

Yeah 'comic book' is a good description but I can see a younger buyer really liking it.

<2000lbs with 189hp @ $51K

vs

>3000lbs with 295hp @ $60K

Hmmmm . . .
