Commuter car

I asked about electric cars in another thread a week ar so ago.

We were talking at work about the blatant lack of electric cars 20 years after we were tld they were being developed.

My co-worker just showed me this. I am seriously considering putting a deposit on the 18K model.

Hell, George Clooney has one so it must be cool right?

Second generation Handa CRX. They had an economy model, super high gas mileage (40mpg I think), cheap and super easy to DIY.

Jim-

Looks good on the gas...but why did oyu sell the MINI? That seems like a good commuter, even though the JCW kit is going to cut into gas mileage a bit.

Good on gas? It doesnt use any. Its an electric car, right now it has an 80 mile range but with better batteries that will change. They are using car batteries right now.

Something had to go to make room for a 911. I have dreamed of owning a 911 for 18 years now and I am finally getting it. Unfortunatly. 4 weeks ago when I sold my MINI and set out to buy a 911 there was no hint that gas prices would do what they are doing now.

I could not sell my RX-7, some of you P-car guys can relate. I have 40K invested in it and will NEVER get that back out. At best I could sell it for $7500 if I was patient. So the MINI was sold for 20K and the money is being used to buy a 1980SC.

I would buy, in a minute, a zero emmisions car. I am really considering putting a deposit on one of these to use for my back and forth to work duties.

Would wonder about the Tango. Look at their website. On the ordering page it shows that "production is expected to commence in early 2005?" Its already September 2005 the last time I looked.

Any company who cannot keep their website at least somewhat current I would have to wonder if they can build cars and will remain in business.

I like the idea but would be concerned with this company.
