Unhappy Boy meets Girl, A plea to the wise.

Please give me your honest thoughts and opinions in my difficult time.

Boy(college grad) meets girl (returning student junior)
Boy falls in love with girl
Girl falls in love with boy
Boy and girl cohabit-ate. Many good times, bad times are BAD, but worked through. Love prevails.
Girl chooses grad school 400miles away. Boy agrees to follow, taking new job.
Boy and Girl dream of life together with children. Much talk of marriage and starting a family after graduation.
Many good times, bad times are (lower case) bad, more frequent now, but worked through, Boy has some doubts; is she really the one?
Boy and Girl have been together for 4.5 years.
Girl is about to graduate, Boy loves his job, environment, and the Girl(?)
Girl wants to move 2800miles away and expects Boy to follow. Boy now has many doubts.
Girl moves (only) 400miles away. Boy does not follow but proposes a 1 year hiatus. Girl agrees.
3months later, Girl invites Boy for a visit. Many good times. Boy returns home. Boy still loves Girl. Boy believes Girl loves Boy.
(hold on to your hat)
Girl meets girl; Girl decides that she's bisexual.
Girl calls Boy, Girl is pregnant.
Girl and girl plan to raise Boy's child as Lesbian couple......
Boy wants his Girl and a family.
Boy reflects on his once "Normal" life.

Insight please?

Boy must write large checks each month for the next 18 years unless girls girl wants to adopt and girl decides not to screw you.

Baby grows up not knowing which mommy to call daddy.

Boy could go to court for custody, but if one mommy is good, two are better.

Sounds like a set-up to me...the timing order could have been:
Girl meets girl
Girls decide they want to do the "modern thing" have a "heather with 2 mommies"
Girl calls sucker boy, asks him to come for a visit...

The rest could be history.

Hey, no worry...at least she didn't leave you for another guy.

Boy gives up his old social life, files for custody and wins by paying megabucks to the best lawyer in town. Boy devotes life to child, child is happy.

Normally this would be the all important end of the story but:

Boy meets single mom with similar goals, finds out she has been through as similar case, boy and new girl fall in love (eventually as both have been hurt it takes time). Boy and new girl get married, two children wind up very happy as well as tow very happy adults, resentment is gone, boy accepts old girls visitation yet old girl remains resentful and upset. Boy doesn't care, his baby and his new love are his life and old girl suffers not him.

Think I'm crazy? I've seen it happen. FWIW many single moms wish they could just find the "right" guy. Today was my 7 YO first day as 2nd grade, withot my wedding ring the single moms saw me as prey!

CUT BAIT AND RUN.

Seriously... cut your losses... Someone who does that just can't be the right person for you.

Paternity test - ensure you are truely in this position. If you are then you are going to be a father. I hope that's alright with you because the child will need you more than you can imagine.

Prepare to be the father emotionally and legally by ensuring your rights through the courts of she will not agree to them on her own.

Get a lawyer's advice as soon as you get the test results back; if she won't submit to a test - get a lawyer then.

Boy can't make girl switch teams.
Boy should get visitation rights and find a girl on his team.

First; there is no future with the girl. Get that foolishness out of your head. Wether you "love" her or not is unimportant and meaningless. Get over it.

Second; You may not have a future with the child. If that is the mothers intention, there is little you can do. Lawyer up fast. If your ex is determined to do the "Heather has two mommies" thing, she will prevail and you will write the checks. As awful as it sounds, tell her you want 100% custody or they can formally adopt the child.

Lastly; be thankful you never married her. Many women "discover" their bisexuality after two or three kids and a mortgage.

What Moses said. LAWYER UP FAST AND HARD. Your in for the ride of your life and your not likely to enjoy it. (ask me how I know)
But then again, there's always the Robert Blake method.

I am usually for the liberal peace and mutual understanding path....go ahead and try that.....while you lawyer up big time. Verbal agreements are less than worthless in these situations. GET A LAWYER.

I think you need to ask yourself some questions about what will be acceptable to you and for your child. 25 years from now, you will know an adult who also happens to be your child. That person will look back on their life, and your role in it. What are they going to say about you? What are you going think about yourself as a parent at that point?

If this woman is going to bear your child, you need to make sure that you have a LEGAL stake in the child's life.

One positive: having children is awesome. I had zero interest in having kids, but when my daughter came along....wow. What a gem.

Sadly, what Moses says is spot-on. The fact that she would sacrifice the childs normal father relationship speaks volumes.

I have also seen that "the father" is big-time on the hook for funding. You may think 'that's just for those "dead-beat" types' . . .well sorry, as raw as it is, you have a big target painted on you and she(s) have all the arrows.

Do you have a passport . . . you know, a Honda . .to go for a long drive . .to cool off.

I feel for ya. Try not to be pissed as hell. I know that I would be. . .but try to focus on mapping out all options.

Thumbs up

You guys are awesome! Thank you all for the advise and information. Looks like the lawyer is needed pronto, and not after the birth?
I cannot see myself as an absentee father; but I must put it out of my mind. I've lost 10lbs and can't sleep!
Thanks for the humor as well, I needed the laugh : )

Do I need a lawyer whom specializes in Family Law?

Consult a lawyer now-but likely you won't fire a shot until birth.

Pics of lesbians please.
Hang in there. You have rights too. It'll be a bit expensive to excercise them.

Dammit.
I was going to ask for pics too.
e-mail will be fine. Videos ok.

It's more than a bit expensive to exercise your rights. In fact, you basically have to buy your rights.
No offense to attorneys on board...
