Litmus test
I think you should supply your own caption for this photo. This guy is either a hero or a zero, depending on your perspective.

I guess I am totally confused as to what direction you are heading by posting this picture. Knowing your views I have a pretty good idea...
I filled all my cars up, and 2 extra 5 gallon gas cans yesterday. The gas cans are for the motorcycle. I plan to commute with it on a daily basis for the near future, and as it gets good gas mileage, it only hold 5 gallons. I filled them up to make refuleing the motorcycle easier. Does that make me a bad person? I sure as hell hope you don't think so. Could this picture have been taken down south, where he is getting gas to fuel a boat to go help people? Who the heck knows. Either way, I do not have a problem with someone getting some extra gas. Especially knowing its going to go up in price. If I knew beer was going to sky rocket in price, you better damn well know I am going to stock up..... My thoughts.. Bill |
We don't know why he is filling up the tanks.
Without context, its impossible to pass judgement. But the girls here in the office think he's quite the sex machine. Evidently big fellas in flip flops are quite the turn on.... |
Thanks, Bill. I'm not 'heading' in any direction. It's a newswire photo and it's all over the world. It can be read several ways. That's why I'm asking for captions. I believe the shot was taken in Georgia.

It's not a year old photo from CNN is it?

Come to think of it, I guess there is a moral here for me:
This was taken the day after the president said not to buy gas you don't need. Now, that means this guy is likely disobeying authority. Elsewhere on OT, people left behind in NO are being condemned for not doing what the authorities told them to. So is this potentially an example of "situational ethics?" |
Like everything else hear lately, we could all put a left or right caption under it and have a big 'ol L/R debate complete with name-calling and personal attack; my god it's getting rennlisty around here.
Who knows though, could be a hoarding scumbag or an absolute hero bringing gas to those in need. Clue might be in that sticker on his back window, can't make it out. |
He looks like one of those blue state intellectuals. Maybe a college professor? So no wonder he's disregarding the president's advice.
|
That didn't take long.
|
blah, why hog fuel in jerry can's when all you need is one empty one, and a tube to suck it out of parked cars?!
and internet has ways of telling which ones have normal or premium octane fuel...woooohahahahahahha |
Ah, Is this the right room for an argument?
I told you once. No you haven't. Yes I have. |
I just bought 10 bags of ice, in case this global wrming thing gets out of hand.
Am I bad? |
That is me!!!
I didn't even know I was having my picture taken. I bought 15 gallons of 87 to put together with the other 15 gallons I have left over getting ready for a Katrina hit in Florida. (generator fuel) I just recieved my 150 gallons of 101 octane and I have made 60 gallons of 94 octane for my fleet trucks. If I cannot get gas my business closes and 10 people do not work. Excuse me for looking after my conpany and my employees. I chose smaller Toyota trucks for my fleet that are capable of 20 MPG Vs. the traditional 4x4 full size truck that gets 12 MPG or less city. In hindsight I wish I had purchased diesels. I disregarded the president too because I knew Suzie Cell Phone in her Suburban wouldn't listen either. http://www.suvcitythefilm.com/Pages/watchfilm3.html Although, I plan on sitting home all holiday weekend and doing nothing so I do not use gas and try better to obey my president. Lets see the loss of revenue this holiday weekend because 1/2 of America is doing the same as me. |
I suppose that guy didn't pay attention in economics class. Remember the old saying, "Buy low, sell high?" Seems he doesn't understand that principal.
I tanked up my DD car (Subaru Legacy) this past Monday, before all the price hikes. I am now just below a 1/4 tank. I am hoping that my other cars (the Porsche, and the wife's VW New Beetle) have enough petrol in the tanks to last the weekend. Plus I have 20 gallons of gas at home (er, I mean at an undisclosed location protected by a giant flying spaghetti monster :D ) that I didn't use at the last DE track event that I can use. I'm not buying gas because President Bush told me so - I'm not buying gas 'cause I'm hoping this unreasonable price hike will subside shortly! I hope the ride out this gas price spike - hopefully next week things should settle down. As for the "Hubba-Bubba" in the picture - I'm sure women are getting in line, waiting for him to put the mac on them! -Z-man. |
Oh, as for a caption, I submit:
"Nice jugs." SmileWavy -Z |
