NEW Lance Armstrong scandal!

This just in:

LANCE ARMSTRONG SCANDAL

PARIS, France -- Lance Armstrong's record setting seventh Tour de France
victory, along with his entire Tour de France legacy, may be tarnished by
what could turn out to be one of the greatest sports scandals of all time.

Armstrong is being quizzed by French police after three banned substances
were found in his South France hotel room while on vacation after winning
the 2005 Tour de France. The three substances found were toothpaste,
deodorant, and soap which have been banned by French authorities for over
75 years. Armstrong's girlfriend and American rocker Sheryl Crowe is quoted
as saying "we use them every day in America, so we naturally thought they'd
be ok throughout Europe."

Along with these three banned substances, French authorities also found
several other interesting items that they have never seen before,
including a backbone.

Yeah, I guess he's so pissed off at the French that he may end his retirement and go for #8.

We were hanging around (stalking) his hotel in France during le Tour hoping to catch a glimpse of him and Sheryl. Only the Americans were milling about outside the hotel. The French couldn't have cared less.

That's because the French are pissed off that an American just happens to be one of the greatest cyclists on the planet. I mean come on, he won a French race, 7 years running. Of course they are pissed.

Lance is the man, nay-sayers need to get a life. They've looked for YEARS and not a hint that he's ever used anything except hardwork to win. Read about his childhood, he certainly has the motivation.

Damn French...

I find his flip-flop on loving/hating the French to be interesting. For years he was very combative with them, last year he tried to make nice and now reports are that he is full-blown pissed.

I hope he does go and win #8 and farts in their general direction at each opportunity.

Who can blame him? I think he was trying to be a "true sportsman" by trying to get more interactive with the french (not that he really loves them). I'd be P.O.'ed too if after I tried to be nice they come back with a last minute jab, that conveniently can't be refuted - they used up "all" the samples (6 or 8 IIRC) proving that each one had EPO.

No question he is a great Tour rider & tactician, and he will win if he races this year. This situation really motivates him (last year it was just one for the road). I wouldn't be surprised if he won by 10 minutes this time.
