Seems as though there's a lot of Pelicans drinking alone tonight. My excuse? Wife is out with the girls, I'm home sitting the kid - fast asleep upstairs of course. Bushmills black neat for myself, tonight.
My vodka tonic: tumbler half filled with ice cubes, not crushed, fill nearly half full with icy cold Absolut, squeeze in 1/4 lime, fill with tonic, wedge of lime on glass. Simple but refreshing and delicious. |
Sitting in a hotel room with the wife. Kid snoozing.
Enjoying a glass of chardonay and reading Pelican. |
Crown on the rocks. Repeat till dizzy....

My wife and I made Long Island Ice Teas, then "relaxed" for awhile, it's been a long, tough week...

The morning after...

One Manhattan a night. Dad did the same thing and lived until 82, so I figure it might work on me. Do substitute a margarita from time to time...

My dad did Manhattans every night too, along with scotch, martinis, etc, but it was way more than one. Another trait of his I'm glad I didn't inherit. Not that I'm a teetotaller.....
Here's how I roll: Mojitos Beer Cabernet or Bordeaux Mimosas on early morning plane trips when my wife and I go on vacation |
Stolichnaya Elite on the rocks....
Perfect end to a very busy day. Mr Daniels and coke is one of my favorites as well. AFJ |
1 bottle of wine shared between my wife and I. On Friday or Saturday we might switch to Margaritas. Used to be a huge fan of single malt and blended whiskey, Cognac, and Armagnac but my body can't take the stuff anymore. :(

I was toast last night too...Manhattans then brewskis. Yowza. Maker's is my bourbon and Guinness or Stella Artois for my beer.
