Happy 9.11 Day!

Happy 9.11 to everyone, and happy birthday to me!
I've got the coolest birthdate in the entire calendar!

I got on a 757 the first thing this morning in LA. I was up in First, and was definitely checking out the passengers as they boarded the plane. Pretty weird feeling.

I am sure every body that is flying today is thinking what happened on 9/11.

87coupe 09-11-2005 11:32 AM

I think this is probably the safest day of the year to fly now.

mb911 09-11-2005 11:35 AM

I hope you have a good birthday however I tear up when I think about what happened this day 4 years ago !!!!!

Vipergrün 09-11-2005 11:36 AM

My b-day too. Just not the same now.

gassy 09-11-2005 11:45 AM

My mom turned 60 on this day 4 years ago. Her employees came in, one at a time, every two minutes with a rose for her, for two hours straight. 60 roses. All the while she's watching what was happening. Strange dichotomy for her, 4 years ago. Her B-Day isn't the same for her anymore either. On a lighter note, Happy Birthday Mudman!

It sucks they used a date which coincides with the best car ever made.

ZAMIRZ 09-11-2005 12:06 PM

It's my best friend's bday as well, we're gonna party hard tonight as it will be the last event of the summer before we all head our seperate ways to school.

Happy bday to Brad, mudman and gassy's mom.

It's my 29th wedding anniversary today. My wife's BDay is on 9/19. I used to get them mixed up. For the last four years, for some reason, I have them sorted out.

It's comforting to know that, while 9/11 and even 9-1-1 are numbers that bring to mind serious, even tragic memories, 9/11 and 911 can represent life milestones like birthdays and anniversaries, and stand for a source of joy: the automobile we all celebrate every time we log on here.

So happy birthday and anniversary to all those who are celebrating today... we won't forget those who were tragically affected in 2001, or those who respond to disasters... thanks, Wayne... and, last but not least: happy motoring to all of us!

gassy 09-11-2005 04:36 PM

Well said. A cyber toast to all.

NY65912 09-11-2005 04:41 PM

Not really a good day here in NYC....especially when you have lost 5 friends and relatives in the World Trade Center disaster.

Please say a prayer for all who were lost that day and thier families.

:(

Huh? There aren't enough days to do "944".

jazzbass 09-12-2005 02:28 PM

Good reason to track time like most of the rest of the world. Then, Nov 9 can be "9.11" day.
