Tired of this mud slinging. Lets have a Pelican meeting at Mardi Gras next Feb!

Ok everyone, lets stop with the "he said, she said" BS about what should have been done or was not done.

Lets have a Pelicanhead meeting in New Orleans next Feb during Mardi Gras! The city and French Quarter will be back in shape by then and everyone will be in a mood to party.

This should get it started, lets keep it moving from here!

Joe A

I've always wanted to experience Mardi Gras but figured I'd lost the chance with the current events. If the city can recover from this devistation then I'll be there. Maybe I'll even have a Porsche by then.

Kevin,

Its a wild experience and can be as crazy or as sedate as you wish. I was there on the last day of the event last year and really enjoyed it. Still have the beads.

This coming year will be a wild one due to the storm and everyone wanting to "let loose" after the year that devastated the city. Lets help them celebrate!

Joe

I'm in.

And the quarter will be running by then. It was barely flooded. It's bone dry now. Minimal damage. Hell, they've been drinking in a couple bars the whole time.

But we have to act FAST as soon as hotels in the area go on sale........

There is one bar that never closed during the storm from what I hear. Its still open, selling warm beer and shots of whiskey. Typical NO style, never quit...

Would assume that many hotels will not take a reservation just yet but bet that in a few weeks when things settle down a bit that will change. Life will get back to normal with time.

Rikao, after a few shots of whiskey the smell will be history. As CC said above, the French Quarter did not flood like the outlying houses did so will not have this problem as bad.

And we can finish it. Anyone else interested in meeting in the Big Easy during Mardi Gras???

We should have CC settled down by this time!

I've been to Mardi Gras 3 times - as previously stated, don't worry about the smell, the French Quarter always smells like that!

As long as you don't try to navigate Bourbon street during the evening hours, Mardi Gras is a blast. Stay on the side streets and watch the freaks go by!!

I'm in.

I always like the beginning of the Gras vs. the end... easier to get around.

BR, you need to commit to coming with us and showing us around!

I was there this last Feb for the festivities and loved it, but have made it there many times in the past. Its a big party everywhere and this one will be even better.

We need to help them celebrate surviving the storm! And for those who did not make it they deserve a toast...
