Using Craigslist to bug your friends.

I'm thinking that somebody was playing a little joke on a friend, an enemy, or a friend that is now an enemy.

Step 1 - get photo of rare classic car.
Step 2 - Write brief ad sounding like you know nothing about cars.
Step 3 - Insert target's phone number in ad.

They better be a very good friend with a good sense of humor! The number of calls could be a lot... and at all times of the day and night!

You know, regardless of what that thing is worth, I wouldn't be caught driving it, either!

Funny! Don't you know I'd feel pretty silly.

We put the up-tight house manager of my fraternity on the calling list for sears vinyl siding. The calls from Sears were relentless - like every day. Every so often, you'd hear the echo of his voice yelling "I LIVE IN A BRICK HOUSE!!!". Good times.

I'm going to have to keep this in mind for when the end of the semester rolls around. There is a teacher I have that might really deserve this.

I had a friend whose pals would get together just before April 1 every year and put an ad in the SF Chronicle reading something like: Old Corvette custom for sale. 1953. Looks like somebody made it into a station wagon. Not running. Come by to see at.... (address of an empty lot)

The guys would have folding chairs, barbecue setup and quantities of beer, and watch an endless parade of eager Chevy lovers hoping to score the "Waldorf Nomad."

Be very careful doing this w/ Craigslist. If you read the posting agreement there, you are agreeing not to spoof or impersonate another person and if you do you are agreeing to allow CL to pass on any and all identifying info to (that person) for the purpose of collecting damages, etc....

In other words, they do not have to use the courts to subpoena (your info), you have already agreed to hand it over.

Apparently this is a significant problem on the *free blowjobs* section of the site. :D

When I was a teen, I called on a $1200 Corvette. The ad said to call after 10 pm. All I got was a busy signal. I figured out later that it must have been something like this.
