Question for firearms enthusiasts
Can anyone possibly give me some information about the print on the wall in this photo? Is it something that would be available much like the schematic view prints of the 356/911? Gun Show perhaps?
http://www.neubauten.org/images/people/alex.jpg Think this would be a really interesting piece of art to have. |
It looks like a schematic of a Wather P-38; it used to be a common German police pistol and would be known as the P-1 in Germany -- thus the "P1" you can see in the title. It looks like the rest is in German too. It's probably a German military or police training poster.
I don't know where you would get one, but asking at the Gunbroker "Wanted to Buy" board would be a good place to start: http://forums.gunbroker.com/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=7 |
A quick online search brings up the P38 manual in PDF:
http://www.whog.org/p38manual/P38Manual.pdf And here are some training (mostly Soviet military) posters available for sale: http://www.gunart.net/index.htm If want the exact poster and you know German, searching for "P1 training poster" in German, might get some results. |
not looking for the exact poster, but something similar. Thanks for looking!
Just noticed your avatar too. Love the Prisoner... |

Looked at many of the pics and found only one or two that were close to being nice enough to put on the wall.
Excellent site BTW! http://www.mek-schuetzen.de/Blueprints/walther_ppk_pic.JPG |
That PPK looks awesome, I'd love to have something like that framed.

It's a dandy little gun too!
Pocket size and double action. David Duffield |
I dumped mine for a PP. A little bigger and more reliable. I do like the double action aspect for sure! The "got one in the pipe" indicator is a great invention too. Both are sweet little guns and bound to be a decent investment now that they are discontinued.

I still love my P-38. 1943 model, it too has the "one in the pipe" indicator.
Doesn't like hollow-ponts though AFJ |
that's crazy. Just goes to show ya every Walther has it's own personality. My PPK/S wouldn't shoot anything with regularity. Your P-38 won't shoot hollowpoints. My PP is a little slow with ball, but loves silvertip and hydoshock. Go figure.
