The adults next? Maybe "select" drivers will be required a certain RX for optimal driving behavior? Maybe all hunters? Maybe if one's profile "fits" upon medical examination? |
wow, there are some f'd up people posting on the board.
It isn't just the docs, its the schools. We were pressured heavily to put our son on meds. We resisted. Then in depseration tried but luckily they didn't work for him. Instead we insisted on an individualized education program, got an extra aide in the classroom, and last year was his best yet. So far (knock on wood) 3rd grade is going really well. The issue is that boys are not allowed to be boys. Instead they have to sit still for long periods of time, and rough behavior is not tolerated. Its a crock... |
I swear I have never prescribed that kind of drugs to any of my little patients.
For personal use - thats another thing, but frankly there are loads of much nicer preparations in the pharmacies... ;) Just wanted to point that out - not every kids doctor is a drug dealer. |

For those of you that don't think some kids should be on Ritalin, you haven't seen a kid that is really ADD. My racing buddy's kid is. Without Ritalin he would be unable to make it through a day at school. I get more respect from the guys I work with for being able to spend a weekend with the kid at the races than for driving a kart at 120mph. If the kid can stay focused, he'll be a CEO or the greatest arch villian of all time (or both).:D
