Fact checking is a lost art form these days.

When asked how Broussard could have gotten the details of his mother’s story so wrong, Rodrigue said, Broussard “was emotional, absolutely and he was from the time that he found out that, you know, that my mother had died and I was here doing what I’m required to do for the citizens for Jefferson Parish.”

She died on Aug. 29, and for dramatic effect this guy fabricated phone calls up until Sept. 2 trying to show how abandoned they were. What a class act.

Of course they write off another total fabrication in the news, since he 'was emotional.'

Thank God for those pajama-wearing bloggers. If it weren't for them, the true story would have never come out. Same as the forged documents.

I'm not sure that fact checking is a lost art, I'm convinced there never was fact-checking. It's easier to believe that they've never been called to task on their stories (until now) than it is to believe that all of a sudden they've gotten extra sloppy. They've just got away with it for too long.

You know... all this politicizing makes me sick too. But, is it really Russet's responsibility to make sure everyone on his show tells the truth?

Of course, the MSN story makes me want to vomit.
