No, you should have to kiss his ass because he wears the uniform.

I'd love to see you speak your mind in public, in Nebraska. Your ass would get handed to you, both intellectually and physically.

No, but you should not threaten to spit on anyone whether they wear a uniform or not. However, a person who wears a uniform might be a bit more sensitive about the subject than most.

Meanwhile, back at the Band-camp; the Lib's insist that Cindy She' ought to have Cart-blanc, and be considered beyond reproach, due to her loss of a military son.

There are a lot of soldiers, sailers and airmen serving their country who don't wear the CIB. Just because someone doesn't have a shiny "I'm-a-Man Badge" doesn't mean they don't deserve some respect.

Combat Infantryman's Badge - awarded only to combat-arms qualified soldiers who come under fire during conflict. Considered one of the most covoted military decorations. However less than half of our forces are eligible to receive the badge due to their military speciality (job) even though they may serve overseas in a hazardous duty environment, or even come under direct fire themselves.

My ol man has one from WWII with the purple heart and brinze star and a few others. He always reffered to it as is infintry badge and I thought thats what every one in the infintry got. Wiser today than before...

pic for anyone interested:

Anybody who puts their life in danger (including firemen and police) to help others deserves a tad more respect than the normal joe (IMO).

No, Island, not above reproach. But she has earned the right to speak her mind on the topic.

I don't see how she has "earned" anything....other than the paycheck the liberals send her way for damaging the administration as much as possible. She has made no sacrifice whatsoever. Her son made the sacrifice...and apparently enlisted against her wishes. She did not, and does not even support what he was doing...or gave his life for,

Not certain, but I'll bet she also received the $250k in life insurance as well... hard way to earn a living.

Ok, flint. But if she doesn't qualify to comment against, shouldn't the rest of the mothers not qualify to comment for the war as well?

I also can't help think she finds no solice in having disagreed with his decision to enlist and then have him die there.

Dan

You know that is not what I said. The word "qualify" is yours.
(Why do leftys here always do that?)
I said she did not "earn" anything...based on your comment that she "earned the right."

Maybe she is just miserable because she and her liberal friends backing the enemy might well have caused her son's death.

As far as solace, the President offered that during his meeting with her. Apparently that is not the type solace she sought. I guess you cannot spend solace at Macys or be feted by the Hollywood elite or be the media darling that way. On the bright side (for her)...it certainly has helped her create a new life and career. She looks and sounds pretty darned happy..except when taking the publicity photos...where she messes up her hair and squeezes out a Bill Clintonesqe crocodile tear.

Obviously if she was so against the military and the war...she had a wonderful opportunity to not to benefit from it financially...she could have donated the money to an anti-war or veterans cause. It is not like her son had been a means of financial support, etc when he died. She profited much more from the war than Cheney.
