Okay, I'm going to give Aurel a break here. You could, if ya squint, read that as; the supertankers crossing the (entrance to the) Panama Canal with crude from Venezuela go to Houston, . .. . . .Rather than "crossing [thru] the..."

I mean, hey, the canal entrance is close to their path. . like only 700 miles.:cool:

Although I do believe his heart was in the right place.

Refineries are most often located where bulk crude is more easily offloaded, whether by tanker, barge or pipeline. From there the final products are distributed.

Ya mean nobody figured it out? It's almost the same as why Willie Sutton robbed banks. All the refineries are down there 'cause that's where the oil is.
