new daily driver :)

just picked this up for $900
95' nissan hardbody, decent cap, no major body flaws but the right rear of the frame needs some attention (rust, need to weld in some reinforcing plates and some por-15)
good gas milage (4cyl)

drives nice, has ice cold a/c, overall pretty damn clean for having 130,000 on it :)
now i can bring bigger stuff home from hershey :D

going to give it some wax tomorrow....so here's the "before" pic.

my friend tim was back from iraq for 2 weeks, while here he was driving around in his 1970 datsun, he dropped me off to pick up my new truck in it, tiny tiny car but very fun :)

Dang. $900 is a good deal on that truck. I really need a truck for working around the house.

Hey thats the little brother to my little truck. I want your back bumper. If your frame has some rust in it fix it FAST it is more than likely worse than you think. When I bought my Nissan a few years ago it had a little rust in the frame right where the frame starts to turn up at the rear leaf spring perch. 3 months later the frame broke in half. My welding skills got real good real fast. What engine is in your new toy KA24 or did you get the VG30?

I have one of those except mine is a '93 with 102K miles and I bought mine new in '93. Mine is still going great, but the dealer doesn't stock some parts for it any more. I had to order a clutch inhibitor switch last week, and it isn't in yet. Overall it's been very reliable. In 12 1/2 years of ownership the only problems have been replacing the fuel injection computer (under warranty), and the clutch inhibitor switch which now needs to be replaced for the second time. The fuel injection computer problem was a design flaw that they fixed by '94. The computer got too hot because it is located right next to the A/C compressor. When I had the A/C on the fuel injection stopped working. They replaced the computer with one that had better heat shielding.

yes the frame will be fixed within the next week or two, i really didn't want to drive my shelby charger this winter as the underside is rust free (very rare for the mid-80's turbo dodge's).
and this just fell in my lap from a dealer whom i do work for (aftermarket stuff).
it's an automatic which is the first auto i've owned in 10? years.
the bug guard on the hood is coming off if any of you guys want it....cheap :)

today i installed a dock for my sirius tuner, this will get me by until i get the big stuff ready....MUHhaahaa, i'm going to cut through the rear wall and install a boot so i can have an enclosure in the bed which will hold my amps/subs. the doors are getting 2 pr diamond audio 6.5's (one is just midbass, in custom panels) there will probably be 2 12's in the bed, the "enclosure" will not take up very much space, maybe 14" depth. on the front wall of the bed, half this space will be for storage, it will be sealed in steel with a locking device of some kind..... thieves are going to need a cutting torch to steal anything :D

there's not a 3.2 liter flat six in the back.....so i have to listen to something :D
