Do you make the cut?
If I had a boy I'd be reluctant to have him circumcised after birth. I view it as an old world type of mutilation. Many years ago it may have been effective for disease prevention but modern hygiene practices pretty much make this obsolete. At least the way I see it.
Well, maybe this bit of news would influence my decision.....???? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050925/ap_on_he_me/south_africa_aids_4 "S. African AIDS Expert Urges Circumcision" "Francois Venter told a congress of health activists in the Treatment Action Campaign that a recent survey in the Soweto township indicated that circumcised men were 65 percent less likely to contract AIDS than those who had not been circumcised. "We dream of a vaccine which has this efficacy," said Venter, clinical director of the Reproductive Health and HIV Research at the University of Witwatersrand. "The results are phenomenal." " |

I think AIDS in S. Africa is mostly from hetero contact.

Do a search on this. Blue had a thread about this and his child recently in the OT forum.

I think circumcision might have its place in a culture where unprotected sex is the norm. In cultures where condom use is accepted, I don't really think it's necessary anymore. |
Had a chat with some girls in a bar about this one night. Yeah, we were hammered....
The girls claimed they don't like the looks of an untrimmed pecker. Major turn off. |
HD,
By the time the ladies see mr johnson, trimmed or untrimmed, its not going to be covered up by any skin. Have had it both ways (was cut at age 21 or so, and no, it was not fun) and there is really no difference. It was sensative as hell after the operation and the area where it was "trimmed" is just not the same but it still works fine or so they say...:) BTW, here is the other thread on this issue. Lots of good comment and info here. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=232326&highlight=circum cision Joea |
I'm going to save a link to that thread so my son can read it some day. ;)
