Playin Texas Hodem In LV
I was at the Santa Fe Station playing Poker the other day....I was gettin nowhere fast....7...deuce off suit , 3 four off suit, Q deuce off suit.....and I was playin about $40 down...in a 4/8 game...wt half a kill.....finally after about 3 hours I hit a pot that put me about $30 up...and I was thinkin about goin home...but said naw...I'll stay awhile longer...and I dribbled out my $30 profit and was down about $20 again....
When I got a K Clubs J of Clubs.....so i threw my $2 ante in the pot to see the flop.....it comes up Q of Diamonds, 8 Diamonds, A of Clubs.....now I only need a 10 to make a Straight....I call the bet of $4 to see the Turn Card....it comes up Q of Clubs....now I got a shot at the Royal Flush, Nut Flush and Straight...It's bet $8 and I call....On the River a 10 of Clubs comes up....it's bet $8 I raise to make it $16....The guy next to me calls all it with $7....10's full of Q's....to my LE ROYALE....FLUSH...yay verily I hit it... Now the nice thing about it is when U hit a Royal at the Station Casinos they give you a Grand in cash..... AND iffffffff. it had been 4 Tens to my Royal .....it would bin Jackpot of 20 Grand to me and 35 Grand to the Loser with the rest of the 100 Grand + going to all the Poker Players in the Station Casinos....

Well I went back and played some more Holdem at the Santa Fe...Super Tight game....got to talk to the guy next to me...87 years old, told me the first time he got busted for gambling (playing craps) was in 1934 in NYC when he was 16. He dug a old business card out of his wallet and showed me...he said he started working at the Sands as an "executive"in 1970. He said the Sands was owned by the NY Mob, the Chicago mob owned the Stardust...and that we had a mutual aquaintance...Al Sacs.
But the thing that sticks with me is when he said to me, "Guys LIKE US don't play cards for our health."
