Cider Run - Michigan (this Saturday)

Last call for the Cider run went out via the Bahn Stormer last week. However since we expect rain all week except for this Saturady, the day of our run - and you happen to be in the area, cruise with us.

Mid-point is Jenny's farm store, if that means anything to you. The dinner afterwords is already reserved (and we were told to bring cash- credit card issues).

September 24th, near US 23 and I-96 in Brighton, meeting at noon in Meijer's parking lot on Grand River Ave.- leaving promptly at 1:00 PM.

Hope to see you there - oh yea I already know that after shut down I have a little oil dripping on my rotted out heat exchangers - don't panic. Just look for the gray cloud of Indian signals puffing with each drip - that will be me.

Anybody planning a surprise visit Saturday? Joining the crew? I'm changing my oil today and washing the car in the morning - I'll be ready.

Is this a PCA event? I have an annual fly-in to go to on Saturday in Sandusky, Ohio Sat so I can't make. (If I did go, we would have to avoid politics like the plague!)

I'm in for the run Sat. I will be at Meijer around noon. We service the vending machines there.
I'll be flying solo as my wife is pregnant and wouldn't be comfortable.
I met up with the RSR guys a few years ago in Holly. They seem like really nice folks. More drivers than wine and cheese people, I think.
I look forward to meeting some other Porsche nuts.
Is there any problems with me crashing the party? I am a member of the SEMPCA ,BTW.

The freakiest thing that happened on Saturday's cruise was when I thought I suddenly had four flat tires doing 55 mph. The sound came out of nowhere, got louder and louder yet the car felt no different. My wife was doing the navigating, and I thought she was going to jump out of the car for a moment.

Then we looked up, a twin rotor military helicopter was traveling right over our heads and kept following the road.

I grabbed the camera, worked it out of its box and took the picture.

I told my wife; imagine being on a donkey in Afghanistan and having that happen. She said, I can't...........still with the pale look like she just saw a ghost, alien or something.

Oh, the chilled cider and warm pumpkin flavored cinnamon donuts were the best I've ever had.

Be sure to make it next year, the dinner in Brighton was excellent as well, and the company - could not ask for a better group of people to travel with.

The dude in the 240Z was right on my a$$ the first part of the run. I don't think it was stock.

I think it was Glen Trapp who said if the lead car is doing 40 mph, the end car has to do 60 mph to keep up.

Has anyone else heard anything like this at a cruise?

About that helicopter, e-mailed one other person who was there - they did not even see it.

I think they (military black opps) are out to get me now.
