Well, its not looking good. The Houston weather man says that it will start to hit big time on Friday afternoon. The car can wait. I hope that you guys in that area stay safe and weather the storm well!

Admittedly I do not know the area, but am I correct in assuming that flooding is not an issue? (In Houston). Why don't you call the dealer and ask them what they think? Worst case scenario, etc..?

I would think that they can store their cars in a concrete building or something.

Flying into Houston is not going to be very popular on Friday, if it is even allowed.

And the highways are impassable right now. Taking my in-laws five hours to go 30 miles. If they had listened to me and left yesterday morning...

I spoke to the dealer this morning. They are battening down the hatches and moving all of their cars to an indoor warehouse....He said that Houston freeways are a parking lot right now.

Markus,

Years, years ago there was a professional soccer team in Houston called, you guessed it, The Hurricane. Good team. Wrong time, wrong town. But yeah, it fits this situation...

Sonic,

Go to collect it soon after the storm. Find out where the "indoor warehouse" is located. Do you know the part of town the dealer is in? Some areas are VERY prone to flood, others rarely flood. I'm sure the dealer knows to get the cars to high ground, but verify and do a quick turn on getting the vehicle so you can closely verify that it was high and dry.

I hope people in low lying areas are moving out, my friends who had to stay in town to this point due to job obligations are saying that the drive is five hours to get to the edge of town from the south/southeast side.

Despite what they tell you afterwards, I would check it out very carefully, carpets, trunk, etc.

The dealer is Advantage Porsche and Audi...I have no idew where they are located....but being an actual P dealer Id assume that they have provisions for the cars.

Great tips on checking for flood damage. I am flying out to pick up the car next Friday...so if its wet, it will still be wet then. Hopefully not. Thanks guys.

IF memory serves, advantage is in a low lying area with higher areas nearby. No, the car could be completely cleaned up in one week, carpeting and seats dried. Maybe one of the locals could take a look at her for you to ensure all is well.
