Ferrari, Porsche, Other Cool Car Concours pictures

I couldn't GIVE my extra ticket away for free to you Pelicans, so you may not be interested, but here's some pics from the ATSC Concours at Strawberry Farms Golf Course in Irvine this morning:

The star of the show, Michael Schumacher's 1997 F1:

The steering wheel supposedly costs more than a nice late 80s Carrera!

But even F1, JB Weld rules! Check the JB holding together a couple of the sensors. Maybe that will be part of their new ad: "A farmer in Kansas repaired his engine block with JB Weld. A German at Monza fixed his race car with JB Weld."

Could have removed the emblem for the repaint! (Actually, the paint on it was surprisingly good).

It takes an hour to start the engine! The engine is a "zero tolerance" engine, meaning it can't ever be started cold. The oil and coolant first has to be warmed up and circulated to operating temp before it will turn over. That's what the little pump is doing. Then it's hooked to a computer which checks everything before unlocking it to fire up.

"F1 Clienti" is Ferrari's program that sells old F1 cars to private parties. The owner goes to Italy to get instructions, driving lessons with F1 test drivers, full factory support, etc. Sounds like an affordable way to get some lap time!

My favorite Ferraris - the Dinos.

Some other Ferraris, Porsches, expensive looking old Corvettes, etc.

Now THESE are some hood struts!

(Believe it or not, some of these Ferrari guys really DO walk around with their collar flipped up, shoes with no socks, and, yes, gold chains!)

Very nice photos. If the drive was not a bit long I would have loved going!

The F40, F50, Enzo, AND the '85 GTO (dream car for those of us weaned on cars in the 80s) are in one place all the time! Check this guy's sick garage!

The Enzo was interesting because it is a tangerine orange, not red.

I think he also has a similar quality collection of porsches.

It was a good time. I hadn't been to a car show in a while. There are some incredible machines out there.
