Rodeo 10-04-2005 12:29 PM

Sure I understand. Kinda like walking up to a serious discussion and puking on everyone's shoes. If you want a diversion, there are witty ways to do it and there are dull ways.

And I picked up and brought it back to politics, Hee Haw = Cheney voter

To spell it out further, and staying in historical context, Richard Pryor = Hillary voter

You know that's Holy Grail, right?

As far removed from Hee Haw as Paris Hilton is from her virginity

tabs 10-04-2005 12:45 PM

Now thats why Hee Haw can be entertaining....right

Well considering that the entire thread was started as a semi-troll to try and pick a fight with conservatives I don't feel terribly sorry for the person who started the thread.

Ah. I was reading along, enjoying the exchange while in the back of my mind remembering Cool's objective with this tread and then I ran across this. BINGO! Yes, I laughed out loud. And the really silly thing is.....I'm certain Mul was serious.

As long as the electorate is more interested in national sports teams than in informing themselves about politics, this will continue.

How do we make politics important to Joe Sixpack?

I wonder how many of you understand how insightful Techweenie really is. I have enjoyed very much his input here for quite a long time, and he's WAY more informed than any of the rest of us. This post is an illustration of that insight.

And to answer, Tech....I don't know. But I do still hold out hope (it's a sickness I have.....this faith in the country Mul thinks I hate). And I wonder if the Web will change my country's cycle of politics/power/propaganda. Those many of you who regurgitate the "liberal media" propaganda will not get this at all, but frankly the media is incredibly soft on Dubya and all of politics. A real impartial media would hold those folks (including and especially Dubya) responsible and it would look to many of you like a crucifiction. An actual liberal media WOULD BE a crucifiction. It'd be WAY different from the kind of reporting you see now. And you wouldn't like it during times when your party is in power.

Impossible, unless nostatic buys more guns and starts a revolution.

My mother agrees.

This from a woman who has just "launched" the paperback version of her book (can you launch a book when it has already been launched?) which is nothing more than an attempt to get a second cut of earnings out of the last couple of years of columns she has written. Only about 10% of the columns are even relevant to the so-called title of the book.

She does what she does for the money, and for no other reason...

Fall hook, line and sinker for the leather clad conservative dominatrix fantasy....

And as I continued to read through this thread, I watched Tabby successfully pull Cool's chain. He's like that, Cool. Trust us. His actual politics are still a complete mystery. He's here to rattle our cages. That's how he gets wood. Sort of a Hannibal Lecter, only with an appetitie for attention.

Actually that was not my intention. It's a genuine question. My goal isn't to "pick fights."

To me, it's like the democrats touting equal rights, then finding the democrats in power having slaves for the last 50 years.....

It was in the hopes that eyes would be opened. Once eyes are opened, unified people demand change. If all that was perceived is trolling, then I'm sorry, I've failed....and now give up...there is no hope...

Ahh, he didn't "succeed." If that's all he has to offer, then, eh. Whatever.

Ahh, I"m still here, trying to hang in there, praying we can survive until 2008, since you guys don't appear to care about rampant spending.....

No chance in hell that's going to change with people like you around.

And the "flat tummy" was a reference to not being pregnant, like shoes was a reference to not being barefoot.

TSK TSK .....Now your begining to sound like Mother....when she really gets worked up over something I did....she really lets the dogs of war loose...

And the question I have always had is do I continue to press her buttons inciting further rage. or do I step outa harms way and let the storm pass???

What do U think I should do Cool....

Nathans_Dad 10-04-2005 02:13 PM

Oh come on now Cool, at least be honest with yourself. Take a look at your second post in this thread:

I hope you're right...

I was figuring most would somehow twist and blame the "liberals" somehow......as usually the case. Issue deflected, problem continues......

So you really weren't looking for answers, you were hoping that someone would fall into your stereotypical view and that would confirm your preconceived notions about how a "Republican" thinks. Unfortunately no one took the bait.

tabs 10-04-2005 02:26 PM

Problem is Rodeo..is that U think your an intellectuallllll......and you maybe for all I know? But it still looks like a caveman rubbing two sticks together trying to lite a fire to me...

tabs 10-04-2005 02:30 PM

Well ya folks chaw on what I said for awhile....might even do ya some good...but I gotta say Ciao for now...cause I gotta couple errands to run...

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2005 05:21 PM

My wife stays at home, has no opinion on politics and has yet to make me a sammich with out me asking.

I bet if I married Cool Chick she would make me a sammich without even asking provided I give her the doe eyes when she starts ranting politic - could be a fair trade...then again that better be one good sammich...come to think about it, maybe not a fair trade at all.

Gosh, isnt this just a fascinating manifestation of the neoCon playbook. First attempt to deflect with nonsense, to reassure the faithful of ther simple ideas. Then, when that doesnt work, ridicule the messenger.

Havent you have learned well, young Jedi?

stuart stuart stuart...another part of your neurosis is taking life way too seriously...I love woman (mispronounced for caveman effect), they just need to know their place.:p

stuartj 10-04-2005 06:15 PM

Mmm. Well, I doubt "their place" will be your place any time in the near future.

M.D. Holloway 10-04-2005 07:42 PM

Stu, now this is just a guess but I would be willing to place a sizable wager that Mulhollandose tags more fine tail than you, and that's even with his pink girly pants. Mind you, I ain't a bett'n man neither...

I swear to God, I expected that reaction. That always happens. Talk about something that affects every single American, something substantitave, something really important, it becomes "blame that side" ... "no blame that side"....

Trust me it sickens me as well. I can only WISH that would not be the reaction...

However, I have to admit, early on, I was proven wrong...and happily so....trust me, I'm not about "winning" I'm about what's the best for every one of us....but then.....I was sickeningly proven "right". I don't want that.....I would prefer to be proven wrong any day of the week when it comes to this.....
