Pronounciation of Fuchs
 

Ok, I've been lurking quite a while, and have done several searches, but I cannot figure out how to correctly pronounce "Fuchs". I've been saying "Fyooks" but don't know if that's right or not.

I've figured out how to pronounce Porsche ;)

Nah, in German the letter u will never be pronounced like an a. It´s more like the o sound in look.

Then rather Fooks - but not exactly, perhaps more like in the word you - yes that sounds about right.

Actually the pronunciation of "u" in German as I recall is an oo sound.

V- Vey (fey?)

Making the pronunciation of Fuchs Few-ks or Fooks.

So it's either fooks, fewks, or ... uh .... sounds like sucks. If I adopt my best Cherman accent, I'd probably intuitively go with fooks.

At least I can be assured my pronounciation won't be met with blank stares.
