Charger R/T

Sweeet!

Took a rather lengthy solo test-drive in one of these today and really put it through it's paces. Screw paying a bunch more $$$ for something that's "a little more of this or a little more of that", I'm gettin one! That's all.

If you can get past the look (I love it, some hate it), it seems like a good deal for the money. Congrats!

Is it orange?

chargers were not meant to have 4 doors......

kmhemi 10-08-2005 07:43 PM

I agree about the 4 door comment. The original concept was awesome. As usual it got axed. Are they offering the 6.1 yet or only the 5.7 ??

I liked the looks of the 300, but not for myself. Then when I saw the first Charger photos, it was a bit iffy, but in-person the Charger looks great, and relatively unique when you look at what else is on the road.

The one I drove wasn't, the orange and the yellow are Daytona R/T only colors which is probably the package I'll get if his pricing quote holds up; in orange.

After the last car to use the badge 4 doors is a huge step up; I just don't think larger 2 doors sell anymore, sadly.

Yes, in the SRT package only. The guy I'm dealing with says thaey are out but hard to get right now, I'll likely stick with the 5.7.

kmhemi 10-08-2005 09:05 PM

With the 5.7 being as strong as they are, I could have alot of fun in one of those cars. I'd love to play with a 6.1 and a manual trans. I like the 300's alot too.

Why do I find these cars utterly cheesy? Just not my cup of tea I guess.....

You could always weld two of 'em shut. It worked for the General Lee.

I like the Charger, It's a good compromise of design and functionality. My dad has a Hemi in his Dodge 1500. I can only imagine what that motor must be like in a lighter chassis.

I actually like the 300C more, it just looks mean, like some sort of Mafia enforcer car.

I like this concept of a Cuda coupe. Anyone know if this is being developed/studied? If so, I'll take one in white, pleasehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1128895089.jpg

I drove the SRT8 last week and it was sensational. Well worth the extra money. The engine pulls like a freight train - and the thing actually corners - unlike the normal Hemi. And the large Brembo's and wheels alone are probably worth the extra $$ for the SRT8.

Brilliant car really. Take it for a drive before you rubbish it.

Who ever would have thought Mercedes Benz would one day be building "Dodge Chargers"?
You're right, 928ram. This one has more business wearing the badge than the last fwd abortion. If it goes around corners without causing soiled underwear, thats more than you could say for the first generation cars!
Enjoy.

Rear wheel drive, front mounted V-8. Let's face it guys, it's been a winning formula in sales for decades. Maybe it's the old fart attitude, but I've never liked the feel of a front wheel drive car.

Superman 10-10-2005 07:18 AM

I prefer the '68 and '69 models, with the 426.

Having owned my share of Hondahs over the years I would normally agree with you, until I drove a 2003 Mini Cooper S and was feeling guilty for having so much fun in a FWD car, I even tracked it.

Chrysler is on a roll, I have seen the Chargers on the road and I am not too fond of them but can see the appeal. I am in the middle of a love/hate over the new Mustangs too. I guess I have to just get used to them.
