Poll: Help me choose my new seats!
I currently have SC seats recovered 993 style by Betterbodies Motorsport. I'm not crazy about them. (Anybody want them?)
Anyway, I have decided to recover my old seats or spring for new leather Recaro Pole Position seats. My car is not stock. It has IROC bumpers and a 930S steering wheel. What do you think?

Moses,
I've spent some time in rdanes beast with the Pole Positions. I was very impressed with the comfort level. Not that hard to get in and out of either. I like the as well or better than my factory sports. The only downside I see is loss of easy access to the area behind. I would consider them if I didnt let my Dawg ride in back. I'd say no comparison to the stock seats. M |

stock seats blow.
Getting into my Sparco Fighter takes a bit different approach, but once you're there....although I'm still dialing in tilt angle (mmm, fender washers...). My Sparco Torino feels pretty great too, and I'll likely swap seats for awhile to see how the Torino feels for driving (it would be nice to have access to the back). |

Moses, can you post a quick pic of the seats and give me an idea of what shape they're in?

Moses- I see you now have Pole Position seats. Mind giving us some feedback on them? I'm considering them for street/DE use. I'm a little concerned about ingress/egress and whether or not they work ok with seat belts.

Now the bad part! With the Recaro sliders and brackets mounted in the lowest position, I'm about an inch higher than with the stock seats. It makes me a little nuts. I don't think I could wear a helmet comfortably with the targa top on. I could mount the bracket directly omitting the sliders, but my wife likes to drive the car, too.

My wife doesn't drive the car so I could mount directly to the floor. Would I get lower than stock seat height if I did it that way? If one mounts the seat to the floor, and there is no tilt feature, how do you access the back for cleaning if not for other purposes? |

If you mount the brackets directly to the factory supports, you will be as low or a bit lower than stock.

I have to say, I took my sport seats out at one point (not sure why) and I was absolutely APALLED at how heavy they were.
I'd like to change 'em out at some point but I'm afraid I might give myself a hernia.

Unless I can gain 2 more inches of headroom, it's not worth it. I'll have to contact Recaro and see what they say.
If I do get the Pole position driver's seat, I think I'll get the "sport" seat for the passenger. If I get both in black leather, they shouldn't look awkwardly dissimilar. The advantage to the Sport is it will tilt and also remain on sliders for passengers, who are also almost always shorter than me. That will also allow access to the back. Any thoughts or comments? Scooter92, your interior looks very nice with the seats and Sebring77, I would go with two Pole position seats. I think it will look to akward mixing the different styles, plus who needs to get into the back seat, unless you have a baby car seat.

If I push my seat all the way forward I can get many things in the back seat area, including: people (yes, multiple "people"), golf clubs, overnight bags, large briefcases (legal size), grocery bags, and just this weekend...a vacuum cleaner in a box.
Thanks for the nice comment Flagstaff.

How about the RUF manufacturer, in the non-ruf name? the 5000 series is the clone without the name.
