Bosch Dishwasher Stuck

my fancy-pants, high efficiency bosch dishwasher just went into a non-stop mode. The "count-down timer" is stuck at 44mins, and the wash cycle continues.

Anyone BTDT? . ..any ideas on how to fix?

I'm guessing it's going to be like an EFI system (small glitch = replace the "brain" )

Any suggestions welcome.

get ready for some real clean dishes! did you try a hard reset to see if the problem recurs?

Yeah, I switched the breaker off for a few hours. .. .switched back on, the thing came back alive with a couple min's added to the timer. great

LMAO! jeez, talk about HAL 9000. I'm thinking there must be a way to reset that sucker akin to disconnecting the battery from an ECU. is there any response from the panel at all?

Not that this will help you now, but we went looking for new dishwashers about 9 months ago. Our local good guy appliance dealer recommended we stay away from the Bosch dishwashers. He said they had too many electronic problems, parts were difficult to get and repairs/ troubleshooting was hard. So far our plain old GE is chugging along fine. Hope your luck changes

Yeah, the panel will allow changes to the "wash mode" (Delicate, Scrub, Polish, Make Toast. . .) But the timer stays (or adds time) and the squirters keep a splash'n.

Well, off to brunch.

Bomb it, then kill and torture its components. That should have it as good as new in no time.

kill and torture? isn't that somehow chronologically backwards? ah yes, of course, the old "you will be shot and sent to the eastern front" paradigm. you have learned well, grasshopper

I'm just trying to switch over to that superior conservative logic.

your impression of others seems to be a mirror of your true self

sorry island, I guess that no thread is safe these days from political hijacking

we now return you to your regularly scheduled program: psychotic dishwashers and the people who love them

Whatever you do, don't cut the blue wire, only the green wire.

Ah. . .I had it backwards! --Its bomb, kill, then torture. . . I figured since it's German, the killing came with the torture.

Why must Everything have a computer built in?

To create jobs for people in China?

Good question, I dunno.

It's kind of funny - the PO's of our house put in GE Profile stuff when they redid the kitchen; except, a Bosch dishwasher and some fancy Italian gas cooktop. Lo and behold the GE stuff has been bulletproof but the cooktop -and- dishwasher both have issues...
