World's first production Targa top car?
Question:
Was the Toyota Sport 800 (1965-1970) actually the world's first production targa top car? http://www.kanto-aw.co.jp/eng/img/yota8/up_f3q.gif |
Maybe removable roof...but not Targa. The "Targa" trademark is owned by Porsche.

This is the 1964 show car version.
http://www.kanto-aw.co.jp/eng/img/yota8/doa_opn.gif Trademark name is one thing, I'm talking about production design. I think to be fair we should figure out who first had the idea..............bet that goes way back. |
Someone in another forum just said this:

Better go check that tech forum twice, you will be moving threads all day. ...................trying to keep me in the O.T. section I see - another conspiracy.:D |
Triumph had a "surrey top" in 1962 for the TR-4 with both soft and hard removable top sections.
