This is just great: Going to FLA on Sun and guess who's meeting us....
Taking the wife and daughter to Disney and other attractions for the week starting Sunday. Hope it doesn't veer back toward Florida like predicted. This storm looks like a monster!
Wilma Now Most Intense Atlantic Storm Ever AP - 1 hour, 8 minutes ago SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras - Gathering strength at a fierce pace, Hurricane Wilma swirled into the most intense Atlantic storm ever recorded Wednesday, a Category 5 monster packing 175 mph wind that forecasts warned was "extremely dangerous." Just heard that they are already telling people in the Keys to start packing again.
Its "only" a catagory 5 storm... Like we needed another monster like this. JoeA

No, I know that Arvin - Where's Rick going?
Really all depends on when it makes it's turn - and the NHC is crummy at predicting turns (see Charley last year) - a late turn and further up the Florida west coast. Eary turn and may just skirt the keys and not hit anything. The good news for anyone planning on visiting and helping us pay our taxes is that it will be a fast event - once it starts moving west - it will be here and gone in just a few hours...

Alot of the models are are pulling it further south - If I was to vacate (I live on the water) Lakeland/Orlando is where I would go.
By 5:30pm Sunday the storm will be racing on the other side of the Atlantic. If it slows you might have some issues, but I doubt it. Hopefully this will reduce the traffic at Disney and you will have short lines. The weather is supposed to be BEAUTIFUL next week - 80 degrees and low humidity... I wouldn't be worried Rick...

You should be great for the next week Rick. It's always great weather after the storms pass. Like Jeremy says once it gets in the stream it will zip across the state.

BTW, any tips on making sure I can get on my flight?
If the flights from the beginning of the day are cancelled will I be bumped? Perhaps I should get there much earlier.

Just show up at your regular time, I would say. It will be moving pretty fast that we can see. But then ya never know with these things.

Am I the only one that finds the 90 deg right angle path strange? I know there is a front thats suppose to push it East but that rediculous. I'm betting it will hit North FL.

I am wondering if it will continue to the West and through Mexico not making this U-turn as predicted.
I guess we will know better tomarrow. I am putting up the storm panels tonight. Also- The gas stations here are already going nuts. There were lines at lunch time and many people were filling up gas jugs. I still have 110 gallons from the gulf scare and my Propane generator at my office is functional now so I am just about good to go. I am just South of Fort Pierce on that top map. So it looks like its gonna get hairy here if the predictions are correct. Good luck to everyone in Florida. Rick - By 5:30 on Sunday the weather should be beautiful, the plane ride in might be a little bumpy but you should have a postcard week here. Have fun.
