Some would argue that the traditional centralist liberal is disappointed by the far left liberal. The baby boomers tradition of changing society has dominated that group since 'Nam. Those of that general group that are older or younger have a clearer idea of the centralist liberal imo. There is a difference between the beliefs in a social democracy and a belief in social lifestyle change freedoms. The big prob for the group is that Reagan stole the centralists by default, not that they're very happy there.

Mass-media may not always be a leader of supplying info. It's a money game and maybe a shock is needed so they can follow the new money.. good luck.

It did not take long. Makes the author of the article at the top of this thread seem rather prescient.

Looks like Cindy Sheehan will celebrate the 2000th military death in Iraq with another publicity stunt. She plans to tie herself to the White House fence until she is arrested.

There are a dozen events scheduled in Michigan, only one person signed up for the Ann Arbor event. That can't be right, this town gets 300 people to show up on a bad day, over 1,000 for most of the other Peace activities.

I'm not sure this website is the best one to go to for this kind of thing.

They don't click links, they don't need to read lefty news papers either.

I'll copy and paste part of it, maybe it will sink in a little for them.

Flint,

People like Cindy Sheehan and the (mostly) crap that flows from moveon.org make me cringe.

Nevertheless, I feel that this war was pointless and stupid from the beginning. It was based on clearly false assumptions and obscure objectives. I'll mourn, not celebrate the 2,000th US casualty, just as I did the first, and just as I will the 5,000th.

At this point we’re screwed for years. It will be a long time before can reasonably leave this mess and when we do, in disgrace and having accomplished very little of substance, you and your kind will blame ‘the liberals’ for ‘undermining the cause’. Well let me tell you now: THERE WAS NO CAUSE.

Most wars are a stupid waste of lives and capital. This one will go down in history as one of the stupidest and no amount of loud rhetoric is going to change that.

I think the best point to be made here is that the crime is not the 'exploitation' of numbers but the deaths themselves.

The good news is that Libya now has US tourist visiting. There's a Calif group putting the package together. $5,000 for a 2 week vacation.

IMHO "blood dancers" all...those making much of the 2,000th death remind me of those anti second amendment folks, praying that there will be another school shooting to advance their cause....

Not much truth there. Powell tells me that he does not even have an aide...much less a "top aide."

What is absolutely comical about this assertion is that those whom were presumed hijacked were the bureaucracy...The utter nerve of the Bush Administration!

they're so blind they don't realize they're the reason the terrorist is still functioning. They're fighting a political war not a military war. At least the beltway Dem leaders are not pushing for a retreat from Iraq. The others probably figure that a pull out will only murder 60% of Iraq's registered voters. And the tucken hate Bush/hate war press is used to embolden them.
