Smoking sucks and blows in that order. Good luck
|
Keep plugging away at it. Its well worth the work and struggle. I gave them up 30 years ago and never looked back!

You can do it !
Reminds me of a pic in one of Vic Elfordīs book. Itīs a close up of him wearing a integral helmet with a cigarette sticking out of his mouth - obviously smoking away. The laconic text reads: And donīt smoke !! |
I quit smoking about 7 years ago, after 5 years of it. My advice is just to keep the hands busy. Good Luck!

CONGRATS!
and all you have to do is get through today without one. |
AFJ,
I quit 2 months ago as well.Way to go. I think the nicotine is the worst part. There is NO going back, NO way NO how.....Ya brother. Tim |
Just remember, craving is your mind, or better yet your self destruct mechanism, ******* with you...Don't listen to that bullsh!itter, he only seeks your destruction and unhappiness.
6 months off smokes, 2 weeks off Commit lozenges. |
for once (ok, maybe twice) Mul and I agree. ;) Congrats to you too Mul and Tim as well. btdt, very hard work. And the "devil mind" is very strong...
|
We obviously agree on quite a bit Todd.
1. Smoking. 2. Motorcycles. 3. Fast cars. 4. Hot women. 5. Bush is great. 6. Jesus loves us. |
Well done, year and a couple months for me.
|
Done deal for me. Thanks Todd. Funny thing those smokes and your mind. Good points Mul.
|
Congrats to all you guys. Never had to quit, heard it's one of the hardest things to do, but aside from all the money you'll be saving, huge health benefits. Even if there's a temporary backslide, remember it takes an average of 5 attempts to quit. Don't give up!
|
I wanted/tried to quit in Nov., but didn't do too well. I cut wayback though and go through maybe 2-3 packs a week at most. I will get serious about it after my vacation in China in May. It's impossible not to smoke there and the air is so bad anyway, that quitting before then would not make any difference. I have no shortage of rationalizations.

I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 30 years and it still feels a little strange to drink beer or coffee without a butt lit. Quit cold turkey 3 years ago. Gained 50 lbs and now allowing heart disease and diabetes to catch up with emphysema and lung cancer. Seriously never felt better, but do need to shed some weight. Fat guys and small cars aren't a great fit. :) |
CONGRATS, I also quit on Jan. 1st. after 30 yrs cold turkey... no coughing! I have gained about 15lbs but that's better than smoke. @ 46 and ― I have less days ahead.......Thinking ahead!!!
