Ducati help needed
I've got a 1991 Ducati 907ie.
On a ride yesterday it started becoming difficult to shift. After a few miles, it wouldn't go into fifth gear. Eventually, only first and second gears shifted properly and I was only able to get into third and fourth with multiple tries and lots of effort. I'm mechanically competent but know nothing of motorcycle transmissions. Can anyone here point me toward a good web board or tell me if there are any simple things I could check? There is a great Euro bike dealer here in Denver that I could bring it to but I do like to take care of my own vehicles and would hate to bring it in for service if this is something that I can address myself. Thanks very much, Jess (returning to the basement to put the cylinders on the 72S engine) |

Sounds like your clutch isn't working properly. Don't know much about the 907, but can you verify clutch action?

Don't know much about the 907 either, but I do know that clutch slaves and bearings are a known problem w/ all 90's Duc's so I'd start there.
