New toy that Pelican People might like
Hey everyone,
My friend has invented a new radio controlled car that can drive on the wall and the ceiling. It is being produced by Spin Master Toys from Canada. Below is a link to the page on Toy R Us website that has it. If you look at the "User Reviews" the inventor, Leonard Clark, explains a little on how it works. I thought you guys might like this. P.S. The inventor also drive a 1987 911! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00081RYJQ/qid=1130510045/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-9422550-8037656?v=glance&s=toys

From the inventor:
"It is the high speed airflow going under the car at around 80 MPH that creates a pressure drop under the car. Look up "Bernoulli's Principle". I am sure most people forgot their high school physics by now! Anyway, the two fans in the middle of the car create a high speed airflow under the car. This airflow holds the car to the wall using exactly the same negative force that makes any airplane fly. It is actually the still air in the room that is holding the Zero Gravity car to the wall." Would it surprise anyone that air has a "viscosity"? The labs at MIT had proved that the flight of the Bubble Bee is theoretically impossible according to classic aerodynamic models. They then came back with the explaination - air has a certian "viscoisty" which has to be considered into the classic models. Bernoulli's Principle becomes more palitable if you consider this as well. Cool toy!

So this guy shrunk down Jim Hall's Chapperal 'Sucker Car'?
I can just imagine the fun most householders are going to have with tire tracks over their walls (and, if the device can make the transition to the right angle surface, the ceiling.) Les

It cannot make the transition from the wall to ceiling but can make the transition from floor to wall.

It'll never eliminate hot wheels...
