a girly topic.....sewing machines
check out what i just scored, i needed one of these little machines for custom upholstery work i perform on big audio installs.
i understand the basics of stitching but have no idea what i have here, it's a "pfaff creative 1469", i was told it'll do embroidery too. does anyone know if this is a quality piece? going to mainly use it for stitching vinyl and such. (i forsee new seat covers for the 911) ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's a top end machine. I have no experience with them but at a guess they are like all sewing machines in this class. So easy to use that most nasa scientists or MIT allumni can cope with the manual

A friend of mine who was helping a large sewing manufacturer in Europe with business development claimed that the global market for sewing machines is driven by quilting housewives in the US. True?

Pfaff is an excellent machine. Most machines do one basic fuction well. When you introduce embroidery into a basic stitcher (computerized or mechanical) it's usually basic , simple embroidery, such as designing your own stich pattern, alpha-numeric characters and canned images. Full blown embroidery units allow you to scan images and translate them into stitched versions. They also have multiple bobbins, spool feeds and are programmable...kind of like a cad cam machine. Pfaff, Brother, Viking and Bernina are all top end players.
When researching a machine for my wife I went with Bernina. I bought 5 machines for her to try and pick one out. I was going to sell the machines that lost the competition but guess what...we still have five...yikes.
