Afraid of heights? Dont go here!
Grand Canyon Skywalk
Scheduled to open Jan. 1, 2006 Hualapai Indian Reservation * Juts about 70 feet into the canyon, 4000 ft above Colorado River * Will accommodate 120 people comfortably (how comfortable would you be?) * Built with more than a million pounds of steel beams, and includes dampeners that minimize the structure's vibration * Designed to hold 72 million pounds, withstand an 8.0 magnitude earthquake 50 miles away, and withstand winds in excess of 100 mph * The walkway has a glass bottom and sides...four inches thick http://www.fototime.com/923AA8A50EBEBBE/standard.jpg |

Wouldn't the ability to hold 72 mill pounds seem like overkill for 120 people? Could 4 inches of glass withstand 72 million pounds of pressure?
Looks like a trip to walk out onto that clear platform. |
120 people? 72,000,000 lbs?
Are Americans really getting that fat? |
NO FRIKKIN WAY IN H377 WOULD I GO ON THAT THING!!!!!!!
   |
I got the wim-wams just thinking about it!
Yowza, that would be a helluvan experience
Looks like a toilet seat. I'd be affraid of getting flushed.
"Paul Bunyan's Crapper."
I'd pay $25 for that. They should do bunjee jumping off of it. Now that would be really cool!
Looks like a base jumper's wet dream.
I dips me lid to the guys that built it.
It's the $25 spent just to look through glass that'd get me sick...
I could do that with a long 1 x 8, some 2 x 4's for a lot less!! And it will give much more thrills then their's!!
Oh hell no!!
I had a hard enough time at the other overlooks. By the way I proposed at Mathers Point. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/love.gif |

Didn't Frank Lloyd Wright smash that 3rds theory?
Frank Lloyd was a spectacular architect but a sh_t engineer. His homes have stress cracks runnning through out them and are all said to be very unstable. Google it.
