I picked up an old Dell Inspiron 5000 for next to nothing. How can I find out what processor it is running? I can't seem to find it liosted anywhere.
Thanks, John

John,
If you have Windows you can double click on "My Computer" and then on "View System information". Under the "General information" tab you should get the processor and the speed it's running at. You'll also get the amount of memory and OS version.

Under Gerneral Tab it shows the Ram, but no indication of the processor. It's runing Windows 98 wit 128MB ram.
This seems like a really stupid questions, but I can't believe it's not easily accessable. I looked under Systems in the contraol panel and no luck there either. John

If you have Microsoft Excel, click help and then System info and then you have it all.
Not many people know that...... ![]()
