It looks like the "Ultimate Pelican meet" or UPM will happen in Las Vegas and with only little objection to the March time frame. So it is a go.
I will assume a leadership role because I am an egotistical son of a gun and also because I kinda sorta thought of it, err... stole the idea from somebody, err...what ever. I'm a Republican and we like to form a tight cohesive government to which we call all the shots. There will be plenty of other things to do and to vote on - just work with me here! UPM Date: March 9 through the 12th. That covers a weekend and is before St. Patricks weekend. UPM Location: TBD. TABS made the suggestion that this take place of the strip. It makes it more affordable to many and still allows for all sorts of stuff. The following are the positions needed to be filled - these positions can be filled by a few people not just one. You liberal can set up a committee if you want but your structure and desivness will be held up to ridicule if you drag it out: UPM Location Coordinators - this person(s) will have to investigate a few venues and list the pros and the cons on a separate thread for a vote. Tabs seems to be the likely choice but I don't want to speak for him. UPM Activity Coordinator - this person(s) will have to work on setting up events that would be completely inappropriate to do in any town in these Unitied States. This will note be subject for votes. You guys/gals can do what ever, heck it's Vegas! (see UPM Legal Counsel for restrictions!) UPM Pelican Liason - this person(s) has to work with Wayne et al to get the ok to use the bird and also to help with any administration stuf that needs to be done. UPM Legal Counsel - brief attendees on the local and federal laws that have the possablity to be fractured pro bono nuff said (for Federal Felonies, members have to retain their own counsel!) UPM T-Shirt Design & Procurment Team - this group will be responcilbe for the design of the wearable memorbilia. The will have work directly with the Pelican Liason for the use of the bird. UPM Overseers - this will be made up of a crack team of my croonies. We will have the second to last say so in anything we wish and will administer the or the but at the end we are really just looking to have some fun and make some mammories!(Wayne, if you make this sticky and let us use your bird we might allow a lil card table full of Pelican brochures in the lobby!)

Before the gathering officially commences, remember that we are all to attend the Diversity Training session which will be hosted by nostatus and techweenie. This is mandatory, and unless you get a gold star & stamped certification of completion, you will not be allowed to the rest of the festivities.

I'd like to help with t-shirt design. We'd need someone with the experience, and the elbow grease, to arrange the printing & all of the technical stuff... I'm not organized enough to have that kind of responsibility.

Are there any positions that involve spending 3 times our budget on friends pet projects and taking kick backs, then showing up for the meet a week to late?
This is going to be a Republican administration after all.

I can get t-shirts done, but sizing may be on the small side and only come in pink with a lettuce edge. Let me know if you want rhinestones too.
Off OT, but on for Vegas.

Bush hates sensitivity training. But I'm in and volunteer as legal counsel!
Not sure if I will drive. If I do and someone wants me to pick them up along the way, let me know. Start address: Jefferson City, MO End address: Las Vegas, NV Distance: 1,505 mi (about 1 day 3 hours)

Sure that there will be a good group of us driving over from Phoenix. We might go through Flag or Prescott and pick up some stragglers.
Let me know what I can do to help... JoeA

For this, can we please drop the political bull**** and just get together for a nice week with fellow car guys?
As if we aren't divided enough.

Fine. I'll play nice. I plan on coming. It's far enough out, I shouldn't have any conflicts.
Shaun, you and me for t-shirt committee?
