Downloaded "Grand Prix" 1966 Frankenheimer

I was looking around online and found Grand Prix. I've never seen it (about 10 min once) and wanted to watch it. It took a couple of days. Not because I'm on dial up, but because not that many people have it, so it takes a while to get. No big deal, I'm patient and my PC is on 24x7. Finally today it finished, all 700MB. I didn't have time to watch it, but wanted to see what the quality was. Pretty good actually. Was planning to watch full screen. Until I realized that it was in Spanish! D@mn! So close and yet so far. When are those bastards going to release it onto DVD. Give me a break, "No Man's Land" is on DVD, but not "Grand Prix".

PS I don't know how you guys stand "No Man's Land." I'm all for B-movies, and I love Le Mans, but "No Man's Land" has got to be Charlie Sheen's worst movie ever.

And "Ronin?" Do you love that? It's much more than one of the best car chases on film...

Ronin was pretty darn rockin'. Not my all time fav, but darn cool.

If I had to vote for Charlie Sheen's best bad car movie I think "The Wraith" would score higher than "No Man's Land."

Charlie Sheen - the only thing I remember him in is "Platoon."

I'll admit I had to watch "Ronin" about three times before I realized what DeNiro's character was not in the film's story. It was pretty strange - but you had to be watching (and listening) very closely...

I've got all three movies mentioned above on DVD. My movie collection consists mostly of movies with car chase scenes, action adventures, oscar winners, and, of course, B-flick movies.

In my B-flick section, I've got gems like:
Deathrace 2000
Gone in Sixty Seconds (the originals including Deadline Autotheft)
The Car
Duel
Swamp Thing
Plan 9 from Outer Space

My favorite scene in "No Man's Land" was when Charlie Sheen's new buddy points to a Ferrari and asks, "Why not steal this one?" To which, Charlie replies, "Na, I don't steal Italian trash - I only steal Porsches." Classic quote.

-Z-man.

That's what I said, too? Then I said, when I figured out DeNiro's character, "Oh, okay..."

Expain it to a guy that should be getting government subsidizing due to his IQ. Or else I will have to go home and watch it 30 times.

Terry - I PM'd you the answer, as I wouldn't want to give it away here.

Zoltan - sent you the same as Terry.

As one of the few luminaries on this board, tell me your thoughts about this...

(Okay, Terry is a luminary, as well...)
