Just curious, any full time single dads here

Playing with an idea and was wondering if there are any full time single dads here.

Not that are driving Porsches...:)

Besides, I've been told more than once that I shouldn't reproduce.

What you do behind closed doors is your business. There is a site called adultfriendfinder.com you might want to look into.

Yea Thanks, I'm more interested in the individuals story of how they came to be single dads and the relationship they have with thier children.

This is my goal in life. Woman brings homw 200k plus I sit on my ass, drink, watch tv, have buddies over for cards, and oh yeah, watch the kids. They are in school 6 hrs and day. It will be glorious!

Kevin, why would this be different then a single mom? I believe the relationships are similar. Just wondering...

Single dad here... for the past 14 years. Primary custody, although the mom does see my son every other weekend.

At least according to my stay at home wife and her stay at home friends. What they do is apparently very, very difficult work.
Yeah, for some reason, when my wife is home alone with the boy, nothing gets done. When I'm watching him, I get all sorts of chores done. I think she's reading to him or something.

Join custody. He is with me T/Th/Sat. If one of us has to go out of town or has something important (like track days ;-) ) we swap. So far it has been pretty amicable and equitable. For instance I have track days this Saturday and Sunday, so instead I'll pick him up Sunday night and take him to school Monday.

Still finallizing the financial part, and that is now a pain since I lost half my job. Bascially she might have to sell the house as I don't know that I can supplement after taking that kind of financial hit.

My brother just became a single dad. His wife just passed this friday of cancer. I'm going to be stepping up as uncle Keith at least until he starts college. It's going to be tough, the kid is fourteen but acts about nine.

Well to tell you the truth, you can't pick up a paper or watch the news or sit in a strip club with out being bombarded with stories about the trials and tribulations that single moms face. Having heard a couple very interesting stories lately from single dads I just wanted to hear more from the male perspective.

A world of difference - the relationships are very different. Just think of how you fealt towards your Dad and your Mom - you didn't look at them the same. Maybe it was due to the same sex / opp sex thing, maybe it has to do with how Fathers parent vs how Mothers parent. Not sure but there would be a very big difference for sure.

Ummmm....that a nice recipe for loosing your mind. My wife is an anesthesiologist, and I tried that when our daughter was born. I was stir crazy in 4 months, had to go back to work. Dunno, if your lazy enough to pull it, more power to you, but my utter lack of meaningful activity drove me nuts.
