how many passwords do you need to remember?
i think i have 9. and 4 of them need to be renewed monthly. i need some ginko.
|
I just write 'em down in a little black book...
|
I change all my passwords at the same time, and write it on the back of my bank card. Works for me.
|
My Palm Pilot has a very nice (encrypted) program to track 'em all. I must have about 30 or 35. Swear to God, it's a nightmare. If that thing ever died or I forgot the password to THAT program (thankfully I only have to waste my grey matter remembering that single one) I'd be screwed.

im up to 14, 3 are monthly changes. any that are of non personal info i try to use the same one
|
I try to keep em all the same, but so many of these damn things require different formats...e.g. combination of letters amnd numbers / capitals, no caps, blah blah blah.
Makes it fun when you revisit a website you don't use much. |

Guys,
I use Mozilla and it remembers logins and passwords. |
I don't want my logins or passwords in any place that could be hacked or traced.

Since our in-house applications connect directly to the FRB, storing them anywhere near your desk is grounds for immediate termination. Like you, I have a program on my Palm that stores them all. And you are so right, if I lost that Palm...well....I'd save them the trouble and just not show up any more. :( Randy |
I think, with all the stuff at work, and all of the websites and such, I must have more than 30 things that need passwords. I try to use similar passwords, or use a particular 'scheme' to make it easy to remember.... it works so far... I've only forgotten a few passwords so far...

We use Password Safe by CounterPane Internet Security. The only time I need to even thing about a given password or pin code is when it expires. Then I just edit the entry in Password Safe with the new password and life goes on. The coolest thing about it is that all you have to do is double click the ID/Password entry that you want and basically a "copy" is performed. Switch back to the password field of the app and "paste" the password and log in. |
