Angry Christmas is gone

Just finished flipping through some sales flyers, I noticed alot of sales on HOLIDAY trees, not Christmas trees.
F*%!ing "HOLIDAY" trees! WTF!!! I wanted to puke.
Is anybody else as sick of this crap as I am?? This P.C nonsense has gotten totaly out of control. no more Christmas in schools, the C word is forbidden anywhere in public.
I guess its an anti-christian thing, because other religious celebrations seem to be allowed? Not that I'm religious by any means, far from it. I just think its disgusting whats happening in our society. In the so called Land of the Free.

To our Non-American pelicans , do you have this problem in other countries? Or is it only over here in our politically correct, Leftist Liberal ridden society?

Actually I still see everything advertised as "Christmas" or "xmas". And even though Canada is surely a "politically correct, Leftist Liberal ridden society", I have to agree with you 100%. It's a friggen Christmas tree, so call it a freggen Christmas tree.

Having said all that, I am already sick & tired of xmas this year. They've been playing jingle bells for almost 3 weeks... it absolutely sucks the fun out of it. I've told everytone that I won't give gifts to anyone who puts their decorations up before Dec 11th.

Surely you jest.

It is interesting to study the history of the holiday we celebrate as "Christmas". It's origins really had nothing to do with Christianity and in fact, it was illegal to even celebrate Christmas in this country very early on (it was seen as a pagan holiday). What we celebrate as Christmas these days is actually a mix of many traditions (very few of them with religious origins) from many different countries.

Simple, typo in Constitution. Freedom from religion is what it was supposed to say.

Last weekend my parent's and I had a conversation on this very topic... It was hilarious to see my normally mild mannered mother "blow-up". She literally wants me to follow her lead and boycott Target. I don't really pay attention to such things... but apparently it really is bothering some people.

December 11th? I agree with you in principle, but since a kid, I have seen people get their Christmas (woops, I said it, just offended someone) tree the day after Thanksgiving (I probably just offended someone else), so I guess I don't have a problem with Christmas (ah, said it again) decorations anytime after Thanksgiving (there I go again).

Ah, give it a rest...yeah, it's all Bush's fault. Can we have even one thread that doesn't come down to Bush???? This is getting rediculous.

Did it ever occur to you that it's the christians that are imposing the PC-ness? After all, it's your holiday's detritus that we're forced to endure from mid-October thru the end of December. We non-xtians are the ones who have to play along with your mind-numbingly tedius cosplay crap.

Nobody is imposing anything on you, rather, we're trying to get out from under the xtian-centrism you've imposed on us for the past few hundred years.

Now back the hell off before we sacrifice more of your virgins.

Yeah, maybe true... but no earlier than Dec 4th. Surely 3 weeks is enough?!?!?

Are you really holding up Bush as a model Christian?

Sounds to me like you haven't even read the Bible.

I am not holding Bush up as anything. I am just tired of the Bush bashing in every thread; no matter how unrelated it may be.

Thanks for you analysis on my Bible skills.

Have a good day sir.

Also, where in the Bible does it say that Jesus was born on December 25th? I must have missed that verse...

This is all so easy. I'm not absolutely sure who God's chosen people are, so just to be on the safe side, celebrate them all with respect. We do.

The house really looks festive with the tree, menorah, and pole.

The last few years at work we have not been able to even have a holiday party. We had an annual party in January. This is the first year in 4 years where we are haveing a holiday party.
