Great Investment or Scam?
Here goes..........................banker friend tells me that the next hot 'tip' is to buy Iraq's currency (Dinar?) Reason is the World Bank is soon to prop up the 'local' economy by stabilizing / supporting their system.
Then after this event you would simply exchange your small pile-o-Dinar for a big pile-o-dollars. Since my knowledge of currency / markets would fill a dixie cup with lots of room left........................advice please!

I know others that have done this already. It may pay big, but it also may be a huge gamble. I'm not that big a gambler.

I plan on investing in taxes and bureaucracies...they're the only things that constantly go up.

What I meant was invest in areas that you are familiar with. I understand the real estate market pretty well, so I buy and sell real estate. No one can give me some "hot tip" foolishness.
I know nothing about the foriegn currency markets, so I choose not to invest in them. That's what I meant by "Invest in what you know". |

Has there been a history of similar circumstances where a country's monies were devalued and then shot back up??
