Soak it with a degreaser soap....like simple green. You can try heating it over a low flame.

Or you can toss it and deny ever seeing it....

tabascobobcat 11-14-2005 04:39 PM

seeing what ???

This follows me breaking her pizza stone on Sat.
O for 2

The pan. Do you have kids, blame the kids... and make a deal with them on the side.

I forgot this is OT so I can blame it on anyone except myself.
Musta been GW.
I checked the fema site, but no advice. It's been 25 minutes where are they ??
On a positive note : I did qualify for one of their $2,000 gift cards.

looks likes something we cooked in college!

The next thread that I start will be
"How do I get that smell out of the house"
I guess that I "Wenzeled" it

Joeaksa 11-14-2005 05:58 PM

Buy flowers. They will hide the smell and take her mind off of the incense that you are burning in the kitchen.

Next time put water in the pan, put it on low on the stove and let it bubble for a while. After the dark crap is gone then take it off and put soap in it. Let it stand for a while then put water in it and let it soak. Next morning (or a few hours later) wash it up and put it away.

Looks to me like a good reason to buy a nice media blaster.

red-beard 11-14-2005 06:39 PM

Tell her you just bought a new Porsche

M.D. Holloway 11-14-2005 07:55 PM

Hit it with the blue wrench...

Actually, if you put some dish detergent and water in the pan and heat it up it should come off, then again if you just throw it away and go to Target and drop $18 on a new one the problem goes away until the next time.

gassy 11-14-2005 08:35 PM

Just buy new pots/pans, like Lube said. OR, take magic pills and grow some balls and don't fret about it. Suddenly I'm on *******whipped.com/forum/oh.no.I.burned.a.pot.or.something/

craigster59 11-14-2005 08:41 PM

Well, looks like she's getting a new set of pots and pans for Christmas and you're getting a KITCHEN TIMER as a "stocking stuffer"

targa911S 11-15-2005 05:12 AM

hot water and a fabric softener sheet. let it soak overnight. Amazing.

Don't you watch Oprah?

Superman 11-15-2005 05:20 AM

Fabric softener sheets have magical powers.

But then, so does a media blasting cabinet.

ken_xman 11-15-2005 05:41 AM

add water and a lemon.. cut up, and salt, and boil

Better, actually go buy a porsche. Then tell her you figured you'd better get something out of it since she's going to be mad anyway.

Umm, what did you do to that pan?

tabascobobcat 11-15-2005 12:57 PM

That used to be tomato soup.
MikeZ's advise worked perfectly.
I used dishwasher soap (low suds)
That's Mike.
I thought that maybe he'd send me a sticker to put over it.

E-Z Off? Get's carbon off of most anything. May oxidize the pan though.
