Rodeo, lets just do this.
Give me your favorite Bush lie. I'm not being a jerk, I am serious. I have been aweful cynical lately and I admit that, but not here. I am seriously trying to understand your logic. You (and others) speak so matter-of-factly about Bushs "lies" so I just want one that we can hash out. So pick one of the many that you feel is obvious and I will give it an honest appraisal. This is your chance to see just how rational and fair I can be. ;)

i am not that informed, so i cant play.
but why not, for every bush lie, someone comes up with a bush truth? now that would be a rodeo! |

Bush likes things growing out of you belly! Thats a lie, he hates things growing out of your belly because that means you will go to the Doctor and put a burdon on the weak healthcare system thus forcing more entitlements to the disadvantaged which requires more federal spending and an eventual move towards socialized meds.

Within 8 seconds some NeoCon will re-define 'lie'
|
Mull, I won't claim "Yea, but Clinton said..." or anything like that, I'm not arguing hypocrisy. I wan't to understand what they think Bush lied about.

Saying something you know to be false. That's it, real simple. Like Clinton saying he was never alone with Monica, that's a lie. Ooops I said I would't do that:) |
Rapid blinking can be a sign of lie telling, stuttering, fumbling words, and so can itching your nose.
Anyone want to see a Bush video, he eats lies for breakfast. |

Bush has a cadre of much smarter people around him who manage his words and the "information" released by the administration, but still some outright lies slip through. Most of it is just plain old disinformation, but that's been covered ad nauseum here. Why don't you just do a search for Bush+Iraq here? If this was like the tech forum, every one of your threads would have "do a search" as the 2nd post.
When Rumsfeld said that they, (the administration), had "bulletproof evidence" of Saddam's weapons programs that justified the invasion, that was just a good old focking lie. And he was speaking as a lackey/mouthpiece for Cheney/Bush. |

So just pick a favorite, this shouldn't be so difficult to read your posts. |
thankfully, someone has done it for me :)

Didn't he lie about being arrested for D.W.I or was it D.U.I. said he didn't want his daughters to find out?
|
I'm off to my watering hole, but I'll check in later. Should give you ample time to pick a goody:)

I give you 55 presidential quotes with dates and times, along with rebuttals based upon known evidence at the time, all sourced, and you think that is a "sad display?"
Ok, I'm not playing. I don't have time for 55 debates. I found a nice rock to bang my head against instead. |

Instead of debating pre-war intelligence, I thought it would be interesting to look at the pre-war predictions of this administration. Its more measurable, at least right now, and its demonstrates both an incompetency and dishonesty that is mind boggling. Here's some "greatest hits"
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, to U.S. troops in Aviano, Italy: "It is unknowable how long that conflict will last. It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months." Vice President Cheney, on NBC's Meet the Press: "I think things have gotten so bad inside Iraq, from the standpoint of the Iraqi people, my belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators. ... I think it will go relatively quickly, ... (in) weeks rather than months." Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz: "Iraqis will welcome a U.S. invading force" Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz: “There’s a lot of money to pay for this that doesn’t have to be U.S. taxpayer money, and it starts with the assets of the Iraqi people…and on a rough recollection, the oil revenues of that country could bring between $50 and $100 billion over the course of the next two or three years…We’re dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction, and relatively soon.” [Source: House Committee on Appropriations Hearing on a Supplemental War Regulation, 3/27/03] Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld: “I don't believe that the United States has the responsibility for reconstruction, in a sense…[Reconstruction] funds can come from those various sources I mentioned: frozen assets, oil revenues and a variety of other things, including the Oil for Food, which has a very substantial number of billions of dollars in it. [Source: Senate Appropriations Hearing, 3/27/03] And of course, the continual lying to America about how well it was going in Iraq, despite the "liberal press" refusal to report positive developments: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1132189361.jpg |
Len I think I tried this one before and finally got several of the folks on the board (Rodeo included I believe) to admit that they don't think Bush actually told an outright lie, just didn't followup on intelligence and was blinded by his desire to get Hussein. Am I right here guys?
