doesnt the scoring on asteroid start again from zero after you reach 1,000,000?

Yes it does. Well, the real arcade version did back when I was a kid. Back then, I was able to turn the game over, on 1 quarter.

I remember when I was about 11 or 12 watching a guy who was probably about 16 play asteroids for over 3 hours straight on a single quarter. He turned it over a few times, and finally let me have the game when he finally got bored of playing. He left me about 7 or 8 ships, but the game was going so fast I didn't last very long. I got in trouble when I got home because I had lost track of time, and was late for dinner.
