Auto-X LOOOOOZER!

Just for a laugh, here is the car that did NOT win on the 6th.

That guy rocks.

Sad thing is that guy is so much better than me driving a 911. I guess I have a lot of work to do.

Thanks for sharing,

David

It looked like he hustled that big old boat around there pretty good. How does that make him a loser, sorry LOOOOOZER!?

By the way, the last time I was at an autocross, I thought to myself, what this parking lot really needs is a bunch of trees intermixed with the course.

Yes, yes he did. What makes him a loser was the fact that he wasn't the winner.
I guess I should have titled the thread, "A post featuring a short video clip of one of the 59 entrants who failed to acheive first place position at the November 6th autocross"

What...? No comment about the huge dumpsters right beside the track??

(That sarcastic "rolleyes" icon is sooo cool!)

He may be a future Secret Service Agent. Those guys can toss a 8000lb limo around like it's a 911.

I figured we were going to see him hit a tree. How many cars hit a tree during each event?

cowtown 11-17-2005 08:31 PM

Guy looks like a pretty good driver to me....

bell 11-17-2005 08:54 PM

The club has been around since the late 60's, and there has never been a serious accident. Once, somebody put a boxy little car on it's side when he tried a decreasing radius turn too fast - that was the worst race-related accident I have ever heard of for us.

Believe it or not, we've never had a tree impact.

The most damaging accident I can remember was when somebody passing by our race lot was watching our race too intently, and not watching his path of travel. He hit the curb, jumped the sidewalk, and smashed into two cars parked in the grid.

My apology for calling him a loser (looooozer) in the title - it was done strictly to generate interest in the thread. The Linc was actually run after regular competition had closed, in what is normally called "fun-runs". The club generates a fair amount of interest locally, and many people like to see what they can do in their DD without actually competing (or paying the entry fee!)

He did not win. He did not lose. He drove, and drove well considering the size of the car and the tires it rides on.

Truest, most simplistic form of motorsport. Props to the guy for flogging his Lincoln around the cones! Give that guy a subscription to Grassroots Motorsports!

Rumor has that that a few years ago at the SCCA nationals, a guy's trailered race car wouldn't start. So the guy ran his pickup truck in the competition, and due to the lack of competitors, did manage a win.

Trailering a car to Auto-X is super ghey anyway. Kinda takes the fun out of it.

Not that there's anything wrong with it.
