Finally, Someone In Hollywood Contributing Something Useful In The War On Terror...

I'm not surprised it's Bruce Willis. I always did like this guy! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif

Way to go, Bruce!!!

Has he got a movie coming out shortly?

rcecale 11-21-2005 07:11 PM

Heyyyyy, good point, Victor!

Perhaps if he's got a new movie coming out, he'll have made enough money to up his bounty to $TWO million!!! ;)

Well, so long as OBL doesn't put a fatwah (sp?) on old Brucey. I could not live in a world with no prospect for another "Die Hard" sequel..............or "Hudson Hawk" for that matter.

Joe Bob 11-21-2005 07:39 PM

Doesn't the US already have a bounty on him and others?

CamB 11-21-2005 07:39 PM

Seriously though, I thought the US Govt already had $20m on his head - is this like PowerBall?

(edit) Whoops, Mike beat me to it.

rcecale 11-21-2005 07:48 PM

From the link I posted...

The U.S. Department of State is offering a reward of up to $25 million for information leading directly to the apprehension or conviction of Bin Laden. An additional $2 million is being offered through a program developed and funded by the Airline Pilots Association and the Air Transport Association.

And Victor, have a look at "Tears Of The Sun ". Has to be the best Bruce Willis movie yet.

Ooops, shoulda read the article really.

So it is like a jackpot. I reckon if I was the type of person who knew where Bin Laden was, I'd give it another 6 months to see if anyone else ups the ante. Just kidding - that's really bad taste.

Cam,

Have just returned from the general area where OBL is supposedly hiding. The poverty in this area of the world is so extreme that it really depresses me everytime I see it.

These people live on something like $100 or less A FRIGGING YEAR, in other words what we spend on a good night out every other weekend. For them $1 mil, not to mention $25 mil is not something that they can fathom.

It makes one appreciate life a bit more when you see how they are living and barely surviving then return home to your nice dinner and clean sheets on the bed. If they knew where OBL was believe that his a$$ would be turned in and in a heartbeat for the reward.

Yeah, the poverty bothers me. No easy way out in sight.

However, someone knows where he is and isn't talking, which is testament to:

a) their fear of him; and/or
b) their belief in his cause.

In the scale of a $25m alternative, I actually find that pretty scary.

Joeaksa 11-21-2005 11:46 PM

Well, if a friend of mine, who I believed in, was in that situation (being wanted by someone) and I was offered that kind of money, it would not mean a thing. It could be $1 billion and if I believed in the person or cause would not drop the dime on them. If they were a murder or child molester then that would change things.

That said, most people want/need money more than they need principals these days and do not feel the same way. Someone will out him or we will get lucky and be at the right place/time when he makes a mistake.

I have a team looking for him. $25M split 25 ways is still good money. another Mil buys another merc.

Joeaksa 11-22-2005 12:17 AM

Flint,

Find the bastard and bring him to NYC. Sure that they can figure out a way to properly take care of him.

Oops, forgot that NY is full of liberals. They would just hug him and invite him to coffee, so you might bring him to Vegas or Phoenix. We would have no problems finding an ant mound in the desert we could stake him to, and sit back and watch. Should not take more than a week or so...

Since the bounty is "dead or alive"....we will not risk his meeting a jury of his peers....except in hell. The burned pieces only need to be big enough for DNA testing.
