Question Xbox 360 Hoopla

Anyone plan on getting one? At $600- with accessories and $60- a game I just don't see it. What is all the fuss about?
Glad our kids aren't asking for them for Xmas.

Seems like it also allows one to store video, digital images, music etc as well. That's what I have a PC and laptop for.

The XBox (both the original and this version) are a PC. They just run a very restricted version of Windows, making it seem like a console system.

I'd rather just get a PC myself.

There were a bunch of people camped out at the local Toys-R-Us last night waiting for the first ones to be sold at Midnight.

im a playstation guy but if you are into video games or xbox, the 360 is the holy grail of videogames (until PS3 comes out, which will dominate)

All the fuss is about the insane graphics IMO. I saw one at best buy a few weeks ago on display. These kids were playing some Dinosaur type game. The graphics were unreal for a console unit.

I, too, have seen the graphics. Seems like the Best Buy was demo-ing Call of Duty, and the graphics were almost (but not quite) photo-realistic. We're talking movie-quality video gaming here. Impressive? Sure, quite a feat. Worth $600+? Not in my time-starved world.

Sure, it's probably worth the asking price - just like a z06 is worth its asking price.

Frankly, I'm not buying either.

Yeah, but for those with the time, $600 compares pretty favourably with trying to get a PC to the same level of gaming power (you can spend that on the video card alone...).
